Mixoly, I ranked #14 on the NIETC IBEW apprentice list. It doesn't show how many apprentices there are. Is that a good enough ranking to likely be called in to work?

how was the interview? what kinds of things did they ask you? 14 is a good rank

How it went:

5 people in the room
5 minutes of the main person going over my application verbally for everyone to hear
5 questions: What relevant experience do I have? Why would I be a good fit? the other 3 along those lines
after the 5 questions on the table, several people asked me questions about my employment history and military (I wore my Navy NSU's there, they asked for a nice button up and slacks!)
And then they thanked me for my service!

Thy made remarks that I exceed the math requirements for residential electricians and that I was an honor graduate of my Navy schooling. I think that helped.

I applied for limited-residential, not inside electrical or limited energy-a, as I do not meet all requirements for the others. I applied for the one with the lowest pay and lowest requirements, so I'd assume more people might apply for the one that I did?

yeah IBEW thinks really highly of those who have served in the military. afaik though most people apply for the commercial/construction programs because there is more work and the pay is better. in recent years residential electricians have been desperate for work.

soundns like you did good and will likely be accepted. best of luck to you, and welcome to the brotherhood! :)

Thanks. I hope I get in. Starting at $15.20 or so an hour would be amazing. I'm done working shit paying jobs.
