Well, that was nice of her.

I've found that being brutally honest is a good thing. It usually puts people in authority on their heels. They are used to people bullshitting them. Asking questions is another thing that too many people don't do. Those kinds of people like to show off their knowledge and you inflate their ego when you pick their brain.

She even told me the exact date I should apply for my full reinstatement. There is a 6 week window and she did some mental math to take into account their backlog. She's a cool chick.

So it gave me a numb feeling to the steering, the suspension was softer, I felt like I was floating along even more so than in my car. The brake response was faster than mine. Mine I find twitchy, this thing was just ridiculous.

The throttle, on the other hand, was dead. It was a slow to react as my old '98 Grand Prix with 100k on the odometer. If you gave it a poke for a little boost, there was nothing. If you wanted to creep up in traffic, it frankly, didn't creep worth a damn. So if you need to creep to close the line, you have to push the throttle, and substantially, at which point the revs leap for 3k, the car bucks forwards, transmission goes slightly crazy, and you move up.

If you want true acceleration, you have to really push the throttle down, at least halfway down, and it's still lackluster. You can definitely feel the lack of power on this car, and it is exacerbated by the low response throttle, the softer suspension, the dead steering, et cetera. The car felt heavy and porky compared to its predecessor.

Currently I pay $150/month for driver's responsibility fees. Though I only have about $400 left out of $3000. I also pay $75/month for my blow-n-go but I average $25/month in fees for something I do wrong. My insurance is $75/month for PLPD no fault with state min's. So that's what...$275/month. When I was driving dirty I just paid my sister $50/month for insurance and paid the registration once a year.

Keep in mind that I took a pretty massive paycut in the last year. So $275 was a decent hit last year, this year its nearly impossible to keep up on.

It turns out also that this car cannot be obtained with navigation, Bose, memory seats, wood grain trim, or a few other options.

At first, I thought it might be a more fuel efficient less sporty option for those who want a sedate daily driver that can average better than 20 combined.

In actuality, it turns out the car cheapens the brand in favor of selling to the badge whores; an answer to the BMW 328, the Lexus IS250, et cetera.

That's damned expensive.

PA15-NIS is at least $115. PA15-INFI is at least $140.

In both cases, I could turn that to just buying myself about a hundred legal songs, burn everything to MP3 CD's, and call it done.

I lose the ability to quickly change the music, and the ability to shuffle.

On the other hand, I still have a vague hope of finding a way to splice a USB key into dormant satellite wiring.

You want Soundgate.

They are more expensive but work damn well. Out of the hundreds I installed, none went bad. That's saying a lot for that type of equipment.

now figure in the $1200 in court fines and fees and the $900 I had to pay for alcohol counseling. That's $2100 or roughly another $90/month if I had done this all when it first happened like I should have.

So $365/month for a DUI. Might want to figure that into the equation next time you are trying to figure out if you are ok to drive.
