Car has been dropped off. Expected to be $300 for the oil and ATF (the ATF represents $285 of that). G25x loaner.

G25x review!

I have not driven the vehicle yet, Dad drove it. The sound is a little off from the 3.5/3.7 sound. There is, however, no droning at low rev. The motor is a 2.5L VQ derived V6.

Consequently, it gets more power than a 2.5L I4 would (compared to Nissan's I4 options of 190 and 170), this one gets 218 HP and 187 ft-lbs. Respectable figures. Requires premium fuel 93, and gets 19/27 MPG. The city is a little low, the highway isn't bad. Clearly, it has more power than a four, but less economy. Not surprising.

The car felt better in cornering than mine does, but I didn't get to drive it, so the comparison isn't balanced yet. I expect understeer, because the V36 gets an upgraded FSB (31mm versus 25.5, IIRC), while the RSB remains around 21.

Does also mean a cheap upgrade would be swiping the RSB from a G37S, but that's besides the point.

The car comes on 225/50R17 Eagle RS-A's, which put them as wider, and with lower sidewall, than my tires, plus overall better tires, which does obviously have a direct influence on handling.

Interior was good. Definitely plainer and more basic than the 37, but fit and fitment were good, the pieces all work well together (it's only a year old with 7600 miles, which is a huge help). Exterior looks the same as a 37, so no difference there. Under the hood looks the same too.

Get into the throttle, and there's a lag as it double downshifts (maybe triple). The 7AT makes for comfortable and efficient cruising, but it's a bitch for performance, because it means it has to shift a lot to boost power. IIRC, might even be two overdrives. On the other hand, it means it shifts so much smoother than the 5AT.

It's faster than a four cylinder, even Mazda's high strung little powerplants. Not quite on par with Subaru's turbocharged fours, but if you can mention it against them, that's already a good mark for it.

I know the G25x's lights won't match mine. After all, I have clear lenses for maximum output, the factory puts fresnel.
