so after the most hectic day known to man, the rudeguymobile is back on the road!

The good news is my license is cool. Bad news is that I have to keep the blow-n-go til January.

Ho hum

I think the driver's license appeal chick likes me. She smiled and laughed a few times during my "hearing". She laughed at me when she started telling me what I did wrong. I put my head down, stuck out my bottom lip and said, "I know. I messed up."

She also made it clear, without saying the words, that she knows that I had to drive dirty for a while. She seems like a really cool chick. The other "officer" is a big old black dude. I kind of wish I had gotten him. He seems like the kind of guy that would cuss you out on the record, call you a dumb ass, then give you another chance.

and when exactly did the term "micro" become so elitist?

I heard Twitter referred to as a micro-blogging site and I started to hate Twitter. I love Twitter. I follow a bunch of porn stars and nudy models on there.

G35x test drive update!

First: the lights are nice, but they indeed are not a match for mine. The cutoff is fuzzy, poor, and has multiple angles. The overall intensity is reduced by the fresnel. High beams are better and worse, overall, worse. Bixenon HID like mine, but my projectors are overall better intensity. However, my halogen secondary highs put out a bit more glare than I like.

Well, for your sake, I'm glad you kept your license.

Drive dirty? Drive without a license?

Continuation. I found my usual turn going towards the school, and ran into it at 40. No squealing, good comfortable turn. Dad yelled at me for cornering that hard. He was kinda pissed off about it. Whatever. It's a 35 zone segueing into a 25, with a 45 degree corner lead in. Do it at 40 with snow tires and you get squealing. Warm weather on those same snows, and you get sideslip.

This does confirm to me that the tires have an effect, because, although the newer car has a thicker FSB, the overall suspension was softer.

That was one of my main notes of tonight. The whole car is softer.

yep

Turns out I've been suspend/revoked (term she used, I'm not sure which applies or if both do) since January. I don't really care and apparently she didn't either. I even asked her when I had my car worked on last week. Her words were "well technically you were suspend/revoked, so it won't matter."

Well, that was nice of her.

The steering is an electronic boost type. In a straight line, small twitches do very little, but when you swing the wheel hard, it turns hard. In theory, it's a fancy electronic system, which I'm uneasy about, but also like the idea of. In theory, it sounds great. In practice, I didn't like it. It felt about as unnatural as mouse acceleration, but not as obvious and annoying.

I like a twitchy responsive car. Yeah, sometimes it can be a little inconvenient, but for the most part, that's my style of driving. Linear non-boosted steering also has a more lively, responsive, and accurate feedback.
