They're really expensive, unless I can find very old used ones.

Otherwise, they aren't my ideal preference, but I'd probably be able to live with them.

My preference is to stay as close to the stock appearance as possible. Unfortunately, stock wheels are 17x7 or 18x8, no 17x8.

just try to find older model. Rims depreciate even more than cars.

mine are 18x8. You can run 17x8 if you want since your car can take 18x8

I can't decide if I should drive to my boyfriend's or take the train.

I'd rather drive and have my car with me, but traffic will suck and it's raining and the roads between here and there flood easily.

but if I take the train, that means I'll be walking around carrying my backpack all night (and I'll have to walk to the subway station in the rain)

take the train. Avoid the rain, by taking a cab from the station.
