Huge difference. What sdifox is saying is to take the existing database and convert/transform/manipulate the data so you can directly import it into the new DB without having to type them in manually.

I do not believe I will be able to do that. I'm using FileMaker, on a limited access account, on a computer that cannot have software installed or updated.

how limited is your filemaker account.? Can you create new queries or import export data? Is there a spreadsheet software on that machine?
