I hope it was you that told him, and I hope you phrased it as "Hey Boss, I've got x, y, and z done and am ready for another assignment."

No and no. I told someone else that I was occasionally bored, and that person oh so helpfully passed that bit of information along.

If I'm bored enough to seek more work, I can provide it to myself via cleaning and reorganizing shelves in here.

Don't even remember now, it was some local micro that's supposed to be decent. It wasn't the usual mass market swill.

You have to try various kinds. There are lagers, porters, stouts, wheat beers (hefeweizens), and more. As far as beers with large distributions go, Bass is probably my favorite, especially on tap. As far as local breweries, the one down the road has a robust porter that I like and also a new one called roggenwein which is really awesome. There is a Belgian restaurant in town that brews their own beers and they have what might be my favorite, called a quad (I think it is short for quad ripple IIRC).

When you start in the professional world, bosses love it when you finish assignments and ask for more work. To them, it means you're a go getter. I used to do that all the time when I first started and it impressed a lot of people. Now, I do make much of my own work.

WTF is wrong with this forum? (search)
Every time I turn around it's slow or just fuckin broken!
Who is fixing this shit?
This is a TECH forum, right?
Pretty soon this place is going to be in the (upper) ranks of the definition of irony.

It is a joke. I don't understand why they have this much trouble keeping this forum running smoothly. Search being broken is totally ridiculous.

It's a lot simpler at this level, and there's no point in demonstrating excessive zeal (the individual circumstances of this job)... so I just do what I need to do, and that's generally enough.

Except when some helpful soul tells my boss I'm bored.

Whoever is in charge of the technical maintenance of the software and the hardware really makes monkeys look talented.

I've tried the local alcohol stores, they don't sell single bottles, six packs are the minimum sizing, and that's kinda a waste if I don't like the stuff. My father doesn't like the microbrews, all he drinks is Budweiser and Heineken, hates things like Sam Adams, so I can't even say the rest of the six wouldn't go to waste.

I mean really they had problems with the other software (CF) and blamed shit on that. Then moved over to VB which is practically what every other site (that has no problems basically) uses and still have issues. Down an entire night on the weekend for maintenance. Yeah it's a joke alright. Something is very lacking in technical adequacy here. Clearly demonstrated. Clear as a fucking lens that can see the rings of Saturn so sharply they could cut paper. Yeah I get it!

I hate VBulletin, I've never been subtle about that. BUT - it is a stable and capable forum software.

The only forum I've ever seen have more problem's than this board's VB implementation was XtremeSystems. XS was (possibly still is?) run off a few Macs in the site owner's basement. He never went down for maintenance, just for system upgrades, software upgrades, and hardware failures.

Well, in fairness, I don't want to blame those individuals without more knowledge of the situation. For all we know, they may have been stuck with bad hardware or a cheap hosting plan and they have to make do with what they have. I've been in that situation before at my last company, so I can sympathize with them if that's the case.

1) LOL@JEST
2) LOL@ Fat Ryan
3) Peyton versus Fat Ryan? Oh, there will be fireworks.
4) I'll be a little worried. The coaching will still suck, the team still sucks, but Peyton has proven he can carry a team alone.

If Ryan got Peyton, I predict he would STFU and tell his OC to STFU as well and let Peyton do what he wants.

That's why you go to a local brewpub that brews their own and try a sampler.

My local brewpub had a really bad trend going where all their recent beers (except the stout and porter) tasted like bad medicine. Fortunately, all of their newer beers are pretty damn good. The roggenwein and Scottish ale were really good but the roggenwein is in a very limited release so I can't get a growler of it.

They're getting a new OC, probably Tony Sparano, ex-HC of the Dolphins.

But if you'd be right on that score, that would be a problem. Peyton Manning, with a halfway decent offensive line, a couple average wide receivers... yeah, the AFC East would be a scary place next year. Patriots and a Manning-led Jets?
