So is a P&S with 1080P. :p

I have to agree as I've been using Canon basically forever. Although in film I trained on Nikon/Nikor glass (F4 body)...

Started digital with a coolpix P&S (learned that was really pray and shit) and it was quite unreliable. Moved over to Canon Powershot G1 nearly 10 years ago. Learned their software/interface and have not looked back. Went through the ranks - Rebel, 5D, 1D, etc. Nice thing is their awesome glass fits them all! The only way I see going Nikon is if you're starting out and have nothing invested in glass. There's lots to learn regardless of the road you take. The worst thing you can do is dump a few grand on a body and lenses and let them sit in a box.

still shooting my Elan 7 35mm

So I rather suspect this camera would not be used all that much. Which would be an unfortunate waste of money.

On the other hand, a good DSLR, some decent glass, and I can keep it forever.

then pick up 35mm

Also button layout. Nikons don't seem to use common sense. When I used the Nikon D700 it felt like I looked like an idiot trying to hit some buttons. Also felt like absolute shit. Took for ever.

Rememver with todays cameras they all produce very similar mages. Find the camera that is the mot comforatbale

No you;re wrong. Canon better!

So yeah, I've tried... Rebel XS, XSi (not that's a difference really), T1i, and even a 7D. Also, a Pentax, and a Sony. And then Nikon D3000, D5000, D90, D700. Obviously, the 7D and D700 are out of my price range. The D3000 IQ blows compared to D5000. Pentax and Sony are obviously irrelevant (the guy at Hunt's Photo/Video was showing me all sorts of things). So really it was T1i, D5000, and D90.

T1i felt very blocky, very square, no ergonomics to the shape of it. Other than that, it was fine. Then I tried the D5000, and found I much preferred the button layout, it seemed more natural and logical to me, but the camera was too damn small. I have big hands, and the grip on the D5000 is tiny. So, try the D90, and voila - perfect size, and the shaping of the camera was much more comfortable.

So, no, Canon isn't categorically "better". It sure isn't for me.

Now reading Penny Arcade comic archives.

It's better than sitting here bored out of my mind.

I mean, I'm still bored, but it's better than nothing.

One hour in, two years of archives gone.

load chrome and play html5 games?

Tell me about it.

Let's see... I've read the entirety of Questionable Content two or three times, Megatokyo once in its entirety, and once in storyline only, MacHall probably four times, Applegeeks twice. Even Sinfest, all 3500 pages, took only three days by itself.

There are many, many times I wish I read slower.

load up kindle and read through the free classics?
