AMD sucks. Only reason to run one is you're into shitcoins and those today are worth just that...shit! D:
They're not bad cards, but I'm certainly not opposed to returning to nVidia when I do my next upgrade tentatively in the spring. I've generally owned nVidia cards
Graphic cards in main rigs:
nVidia: GF 2mx, GF 3, GF 4 Ti 4400, GF 6800 GT, GF 8800 GTS 512
ATI: 9800 Pro, HD 6870
Misc: Matrox Millennium/Voodoo I, Matrox Millennium II/Voodoo II, i740/Voodoo II
Other cards in secondary rigs over the years: Voodoo 3, GF 4 Ti 4200, Radeon 9600XT, GF 5600 Ultra, crappy GF 7200 (in server)
So I've owned at least 7 nVidia cards, 3 3dfx cards, 3 ATI cards, 2 Matrox, and 1 Intel (not counting the multiples of the GF 2mx and Voodoos I owned). I was always a fan of the Matrox and Voodoo combo; too bad 3dfx went under and Matrox dropped out of the 3d gaming card market after their last flop (Parahelia, IIRC) many years ago. I honestly never had a problem with ATI cards; the only reason I even replaced the 9800 Pro was because I got a brand new BFG 6800 GT OC for free.
I imagine that if I go through with my next upgrade in the spring, it will be between a GTX 680, GTX 670, HD 7970, or HD 7950. I'm not terribly fond of SLI or Crossfire.
