Indy, how did you kill the CPU????? That is really challenging....I actually FORCED thermal shutdown of my 1090t (many times) and it keeps on....

It's going on ebay for $85 + shipping

but I'll do it for $75 shipped so I don't have to deal with ebay

Doesn't make sense for me to buy it, unfortunately. The new 775 board I was using is likely screwed and the only 775 board I have left is an IP35-E which was acting flakey and I replaced. Of course, the CPU may have been on the edge all along since it came from that board.

Here is what happened. I had a push pin cooler on it and booted up and it was sitting at 80 C. Obviously I didn't have it on all the way and since it was an old cooler and the plastic was bent and somewhat deformed, I pulled out my stock i7 Intel cooler and mounted it. In the process, I was using a screwdriver and it slipped and gashed some traces on the board. I thought I was fucked but it did actually boot and made it to the Windows login screen. Then, it shut itself off completely and I could not get it to power back on.

When I got home tonight, I did get it to power on once when I pulled the 4 pin CPU power. I swapped the boards to do troubleshooting to know what I needed to replace and it won't power up either and I am pretty sure everything is connected.

Fuck, fuck, FUCK.

Damn man, that sucks....motherboards are fragile (my ch4 died for god know what reason....). Maybe you have some bad caps? If so that is a simple fix.

On a side note.....I had no idea Peyton Manning was THAT important to the Colts...I have to say, it was like the Bulls without Jordan....

The board was brand new. I've tried the CPU in 2 different boards and if it isn't the CPU, it is probably the power supply and I don't have another supply to test with unless I pull it out of another system and I'm not that ambitious.

As someone who loves seeing sports records broken, and high flying offenses, I'd be thrilled to see Peyton Manning with a high-powered offense. Something where the O-line can stop a small girl, where your second receiver doesn't drop every easy catch, where you have more than one good TE... just to see how many records would get fucked over.
