I'm now totally ignoring everything else, including finances, to just drool over prospects of projectors.

So, I think I am going to kill the HTPC at some point in the next couple of weeks. I P2Ved it and it worked "OK" but was slow; I think I may build a new VM from the ground up with that functionality and if it works better, I'll keep it and then give the HTPC hardware to my brother.

My hackintosh has turned into my media server

All my media is stored on a back end server; the HTPC just does recording and plays the media back. I really don't need the recording functionality (the card will go into my next PC and I'll run a cable to it) and I should be able to virtualize the playback functionality.

I considered another low powered hackintosh for serving media.
BUT
My gf and I are the only ones who ever use the Apple Tv so all she needs to do is turn on my desktop when she needs to watch video

Easy!

We don't really use this guy and even virtualizing the playback is probably a waste of time, but it is so well done and cool that I want to keep it around. It might be too slow though, so we'll see.

It'd be nice to have a slightly larger laptop, ideally I think a 14.1", but those seem to be rare, so I guess 15.3". I'm not living at RIT, which was the plan when this M1330 was purchased, nor have I ever taken it to my new school, so mobility is fairly irrelevant.

Hey Motf I need some help

I have a piece of aspen with some legs for a desk. I'm about to put some of this stuff on it:

I'm planning on putting 1.75 inch thick pieces of wood between the leg mount and the top of the desk. Now what can I do to make it more stable?

There it is, you already figured it out.

I think i was thinking $500 because of the cost of replacement headlight enclosures. I don't really want to fuck up my stock ones.

Either way I'm not putting money into that car. I'm looking to buy a S2000 in a year or two

Okay... so you have a block of wood on top of four legs, you are going to reseal it.

Why are you inserting 1.75" chunks of wood between the legs and the top?
