My usual car fund, the stock account, is down almost a thousand, so I'm not using that, otherwise my down payment (including trade in) would be about $11000.

Dear Mazda,

Your website does not work properly with Opera or Firefox. If it won't work properly with one of those two, I honestly don't give a fuck what your site may have, it's worthless to me.

If I sold all my stocks (3k right now instead of their peak 4k), along with emptying my bank account, and the trade in on my car, I could have $180/month payments for four years on a 2008 MS3 with 45k miles.

The Mazda 6s manual, I don't sell the stocks off, and end up with payments of $136/month for four years, with the stock fund still a reserve for whatever the hell comes up.

I don't want to sell the stocks at 3k, I want to wait for 4k, which could happen in a month, a year, or a decade. Who knows. $180/month is about as high as I want to go, and obviously, $136/month is much more appealing.

If the gray Mazda 6s is available, at some $10,460, I think that's a done deal. At that point, I'm using a figure of $1800-2000 for my trade (KBB says the trade is $2345), so $8500. Tax adds just over $500. So $9100? Minus the $6100 I can throw at it by emptying my bank account. That's $3000 gap, put that on loan. $68/month for four years.

The black Mazda 6s will be priced between $12-13k. Using KBB, and picking middle of the road for that car (not base sedan, not Grand Touring, but Sport), I come up with a value of $15615. They've already quoted me 12-13, but not the definitive price. I'd guess they won't allow negotiating room to go lower, but I also expect, particularly given the presence of a deposit, that they won't go higher. So we're figuring about 12995 or something. That puts it $5000 below the MS3 at another dealership.

The silver MS3 is a Sport MS3, which is the base level for that car, not a Grand Touring. No suspension difference is noted on Wiki, just rain-sensing wipers (lol), leveling xenon headlights (as long as I have xenon/bi-xenon, IDGAF about leveling), leather and lycra mixed seats (pity, but not really a killer), Bose (that I will miss), six disc changer (IDGAF, I'll patch in MP3), and LED tail lights (IDGAF). It has 7k more miles (lol).

It's silver, I'd rather dark gray or black, but silver is my third choice for color.

The big stuff is underneath. 2.3L turbo with somewhere around 260 HP and 280 ft-lbs. linked to a six speed manual, and a very agile chassis, versus the Mazda 6s having a 3.0L V6 with 220 HP and 195 ft-lbs attached to a five speed manual, with an nimble yet much softer chassis.

The MS3 is noted for torque steer problems, the 6s doesn't have enough power for torque steer.

The MS3 is a hatchback, not the greatest looking thing (neither is the 6), I'd prefer the looks of my GP. Wider, lower, longer. I don't know if the chassis's stiff ride might bother me over a long time, but if it's as fun as everyone says it is, I suspect that will work out.

CLASSES START TOMORROW.

🙁 🙁 🙁 nooo!

I'm good. Got my books and everything. Also, dont start till 11:30. No more struggling in morning rush hour for me. Hell, I can exercise, shoot, and shower all before going to class. Not to mention a nice leisurely breakfast at Bob Evans.
