Can't snapshot the physical boxes. Fortunately for me, SP 2010 is about 1,000 times better than SP 2007 with respect to patches. If a patch fails in 2007? More than likely, you're down. In 2010? You will more than likely operate in a backward compatibility mode.

if I can do that with AD (in test lab), SP should be a cinch.

Do what with AD? Snapshot it? Sharepoint is at least an order of magnitude more complex. I'm not talking a 1 or 2 server lab environment here, I am talking a multi-server, 3-tier production environment.

no, sharepoint is no where as complex as AD. fuck up AD and your domain dies :biggrin:. Yet the fucking thing is running on jet engine. Pisses me off.
