I nearly crap my pants every time I have to install a patch or SP on Sharepoint.
Builds character.
if I can do that with AD (in test lab), SP should be a cinch.
Can't snapshot the physical boxes. Fortunately for me, SP 2010 is about 1,000 times better thatn SP 2007 with respect to patches. If a patch fails in 2007? More than likely, you're down. In 2010? You will more than likely operate in a backward compatibility mode.
Do what with AD? Snapshot it? Sharepoint is at least an order of magnitude more complex. I'm not talking a 1 or 2 server lab environment here, I am talking a multi-server, 3-tier production environment.
