Still have my Scanjet 5p as well, but that will be getting recycled because I no longer have a PC to connect it to. The SCSI card no longer has drivers in modern versions of Windows and a new SCSI card would be much more than a new scanner.

Print Resolutions up to 2400 x 600 dpi

I personally think Epson has (or at least had) the best color printers. Their prints were just the best looking prints IMO. Unfortunately, Epson printers have always seemed to have clogging issues more than other vendors.

I can probably get this unclogged if I keep working on it, but it is going to exhaust more ink. If I do that, I am not buying Epson ink again -- too expensive.

I bought the brother hl-2270dw just because I was going to put the printer on my network. I didn't want to deal with an separate print server

I can buy a new scanner for less than that.

Well I guess it really depends how much you like your old scanner. It's true that new ones are faster and cheap...

However if you scan a lot or need special features like duplex scanning a better scanner is going to cost a few thousand.

As for $80 SCSI to USB it seems expensive but there are ones that cost upward of $700!

I rarely use it to be honest.

My printer is an HP 6500 OfficeJet Wireless.

It can copy, scan, fax, or print; color or grayscale. Holds enough paper to last for a few months. Drivers are on a USB stick sitting tucked at a corner of the machine. And yes, the wireless works.

*shrug* It won't get changed until the thing dies.

That's why I elected to keep using my 16 year-old Laserjet 4L. It is adequate for my needs. I just wish I could have a color printer around for infrequent use.

The inkjet I had before was not wireless, couldn't scan/copy, and most importantly, I couldn't get it to work with Windows 7.

So I had my criteria, I wanted scan/copy, I wanted wireless, and I needed Windows 7 operation.

Got everything I needed for about $100.

I abhor the inkjet though.
For whatever reason the environment here kills them

Of course when you have a $3000 tabloid format color laser machine get trashed when it hits the floor tempers fly.

I do like recovering parts out of 'em if allowed.

The 24V nidec motors are particularly nice.
