1) If I'm getting a very expensive PSU, it'll probably be the AX1200.
2) If I'm switching PSU's, I'll just use the TX750 that I know is solid.

Don't go with the AX1200. If you want 1200W go with Antec HCP1200. Think you have a whine issue now? AX1200 is the queen of whine. They should ship enough cheese to last a fortnight with that damn thing.

The basement has a complete Venice system. 80GB IDE, single core 2700+ cherry picked processor (oh, yes, cherry picked is a wonderful thing), 2x512 DDR 400, HD 4850 (lulz), and an old Olympia OP550.

Great. Apparently, Corsair's QC has gone down the tubes.

I'd sell the Venice, but honestly, what's the point? I'd probably get nothing for it. Only the PSU has any value, but I think it's a squealer too. Might as well keep that system in hopes of someday needing a light computer for something.

I could pull the TX950 and sell it. Also, sell both GTX 460's, and the old Blood Rage or the eVGA X58.

Then update the remaining motherboard's BIOS, hook up the TX750, buy a GTX 560, and see how that works.

Corsair does not make power supplies. They are from different OEMs however. The AX1200 is made by Flextronics. It's a good, solid design but many out there whine like crazy. My builder has blown a few of them at moderate (650-800W) loads all running with 240VAC input.

The HCP1200s have been solid as a rock, however. Not fully modular like the AX1200 but that's not a big deal IMHO.

Modular doesn't matter to me. I have enough case space to put a reel of cable if I wish.

Oh, I'm definitely not shifting from LGA 1366.

I'd need to buy another fucking waterblock.

Just avoid the Raystorm like the plague. Piece of shit [sic] flimsy acrylic hold downs!

EK full copper (do NOT get Nickel plated ANYTHING!) blocks FTW.

I use Watercool full copper blocks, at the time I was buying, there were some issues emerging about EK having leaking problems.

I've never once skimped on a watercooling part.

I own three Thermochill radiators. That should say it well enough.

EKs don't leak they just have poor plating. If you get full copper you're fine. Ours were pressure tested to 50 psig and passed with flying colors.
