It's a beautiful build, an artwork, my masterpiece.
And now it's a plagued relic; plagued by vague hardware issues and software bugginess, a relic of a hobby that is now dead to me.
Good lord, get a new motherboard and CPU and swap them out if you're convinced it is a CPU/board issue. A 2500k or 2600k and board isn't that expensive and you'll easily hit 4+ Ghz.
I'm not convinced enough that that really is the problem to be spending any money chasing ghosts.
Well I sincerely doubt you burned out the CPU in 2.5 years unless you were using insane voltages.
