been leaving a pan of water out for the wildlife. right on the back step. kind of interesting to see all the squirrels, mourning doves, cardinals, brown thrashers, jays, titmice, etc stop by for a drink. not to mention, roaming pets.

I rinse and refill the pan every day - so it also serves as a mosquito-larvae trap. who knows how many mosquito larvae get dumped.

Pulled the trigger on the wood stove. When I'm done my set of night shifts I will call installer to line up install date for chimney. Also a few things to go over such as floor prep, forgot to ask him about that the first time. Still need to buy all the chimney/vent parts too, but got the stove secured at least.

Kinda looking forward to having this all setup tbh.

I'm driving around getting all my freebies today for Veterans Day. Waiting at Texas Roadhouse to get a free meal voucher. I'm going to hit four of them today and then have lunch somewhere where I have to dine in. already got a free Krispy Kreme raspberry filled donut this morning.

Drop my boy off at the vet today to get his tooth extracted. They called me and said it was a success. I'll go pick him up after 2:00. They said he'll be sleeping off the anesthesia.

So, I'm driving to my last stop today for the last Texas Roadhouse voucher and my car dies on the freeway an exit away from my destination. Like dead. I'm able to pull over to the shoulder. It's straight up noon. It's pouring rain. Luckily, there's a shoulder to pull over on to. Nuts. I try to restart the car. Restarts. Dies. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. I call my shade tree mechanic. Spent 20 minutes talking to him. After about 15 minutes, he's giving up and I'm freaking out. I've got my OBD code reader in my console. I have to open my door to get out and turn myself upside down to plug in the dongle. It's pouring rain and cold with the heavy traffic flying past. I get codes that all four ignition coils are shorted. Fuck. I clear the codes. Car starts. Dies. Fuck. Towards the end of my conversation with my friend. He's giving up. I have no tools on me. I'm not near my home. Fuck. I try clearing the codes for one more time. I start my car. Everything is normal. I'm a wreck. I have to pick my boy cat up at 2pm and I'm thinking the worst. I pick up the last voucher and head back home.
