Was suppose to drive to Cochrane today to meet with a realtor, but the property sold, and the other one she can't get ahold of owner to see if it's still for sale. Oh well, covfefe time.

Now that I know how fast these sell though I pretty much need to jump on one asap if I really feel it's a good one.

I just saw the nastiest sun shower in my entire life.
Only lasted about 5 minutes but it was cats n dogs level of water.
And the sun low in the west shining about as bright as it ever has.
Now the sky is all weird.

Not much rain here surprisingly. Normally as soon as September hits it just rains non stop, sometimes it even starts mid August. But the weather has actually been really nice. Been in the 15-20 range which is perfect. That wind today is just nuts though.

Deck is finally done, at least up to the point I wanted to this year. Going to do lattice or fencing, and add seating and stuff. Project for next year.

The lumber sat a little long.... need to redo the lawn there.

Was hoping to find patio furniture on sale, but don't see any anywhere. Would be nice to have a couple chairs at least. They would probably get stolen though, so I'm probably better off doing built in seating and then just a big heavy wooden table.

Man my city is getting so bad. A few days ago a shop owner got assaulted as she walked outside her shop, then they smashed the windows of her shop and stole stuff inside. Just today a woman was threatened at knife point while buying smokes. Stuff like this is happening almost every day.

I really need to start thinking about an exit plan, I'm tired of feeling like I need to constantly watch my back and make sure all my stuff is secure etc and the constant fear of getting home to find out it's been ransacked. They are cutting locks now, does not matter how well you lock stuff. The other day someone's boat and trailer was stolen. They have zero fear of being caught because nothing happens when they are caught anyway.

I do need to figure a way to secure my shed better though, I have an outswing door which is problematic. The latch is easily accessible. I might need to put in a dead bolt or something, that might be my best bet. I need to learn how to weld, need to make a proper steel door frame too. Door latches in general are not all that strong.

Why are you building fences around your deck? Is this to block the Canadian winds? Those are quite high.

I plan to get rid of the hedges, so I want a bit of privacy and not have it feel so open. I might just do lattice instead of fence boards, not sure yet. Just something so it does not feel like a stage.

I want to do some kind of roof eventually as well for shade as the 5pm sun is brutal strong and there is no shade at that time, but the way the beams line up at the bottom it makes it awkward, one of the posts would end up right in front of the furnace intake/exhaust pipes. But I'll figure that out another year.

All set up to work from home tomorrow and the day after. Then back at the office after that.

This back and forth stuff is kinda annoying, wish they would just let us work from home 100%. I guess if they feel it's that important to have someone in the office it means we probably won't get outsourced, so there's that.
