Just realized I had a 1TB drive in my file server doing absolutely nothing. I somehow forgot to add it to the raid array lmao. Just did that now... gonna have an extra 900GB or so to my raid5. That's one of the arrays running low on disk space. I'm looking at completely upgrading that to larger drives but it might carry me over for a bit longer now.

I have another raid array running low but it's a raid 10 and don't think you can expand those. If I buy more drives it will probably be to replace the raid5 one so almost pointless to resize it but may as well since I discovered this lost drive lol.

Thinking of pulling the trigger on like 10 8TB drives. A lot of money though... I think I'll wait till my truck is paid off at least. That could be a couple years. I took out 7 grand of shares which will hopefully show up in my account soon, maybe I should have took more out, but I'll stick with that for now.

Yeah this array is old. All the drives have changed over the years though.

You can buy a single hard drive that is bigger now days.

I can hadhas more ups than your office?

Technically the one you got is way bigger than our office space ones (we just have regular desktop ones) but the one that does the equipment is WAY bigger. We don't really refer to it as a UPS but it's basically the same idea as a dual conversion one except most loads just run straight off DC. There is as big inverter too though for the 120v loads. We have 4 strings of 24 2 volt cells that are around 4900ah each IIRC so that gives us just under 20,000ah. We have two big diesels too the battery plant is mostly in case they don't start and to carry over the load.
