We get to wear sensible shoes.

Even our "dress shoes" are functional as needed.

But as a man, you can wear a pair of nice dark sneakers to almost anything, and your footwear will be superbly comfortable, and extremely practical.

In fact, for 6-7 years now, my idea of "dress shoes" has been a pair of black work boots. If it's an occasion that clearly states dress shoes required, I polish the boots first.

Since my pants are, as fits the style for young males, slightly oversized, and as I find comfortable, slightly oversized, the cuffs drape over the sides of the boots, and conceals their true nature.

The soles are obviously wildly different than dress shoes, but the dark gloss disguises them well enough.

Dude wtf boots?!?!?

Everyone needs at least 2 dress shoes... Brown black

I own zero. They are terribly uncomfortable; both pinching around the sides and top, with highly rigid material, and with little padding beneath. The sole is rigid and smooth, making them squeak on slick surfaces, slip on low traction surfaces, and clack loudly on hard surfaces.

My Magnum boots are nearly silent on any surface, are completing waterproof, extremely comfortable, warm enough for any cold weather or cold surface, and can march right through snow. Hell, I can even run in them.

I own one pair of those Chuck Taylor flat shoes, they are flimsy, uncomfortable, but it cost $30 for shoes that serve quite nicely for weight lifting.

My favorite shoes are my hiking boots, though I rarely get to wear them. I have 3 pairs of sneakers (two good, one bad for lawn work), 1 pair of old high tops (lawn work), 2 casual (1 brown, 1 black), and 1 dress.

Converse Weapons own them all except my hiking boots.

1) Lawn work should ALWAYS be done in boots. There are no exceptions. Weed whacking, lawn mowing, digging, planting, patio laying, wall building, roof repair, raking...
2) If your favorite shoes are hiking boots, wear them as often as you like. Wear them around the house (if you wear shoes indoors), wear them for lawn work...
