I know I have 35 W xenons right now. I would be changing to 35 W xenons. This makes me sometimes wonder if it is worth the cost. However...

1) My current bulbs are probably factory, meaning five years, so probably about 1500 hours, meaning they are fading.
2) Not all of that 35 W is light, as the bulbs fade, more becomes heat (which is also singing the capsule facing).
3) D2R emits slightly less light than D2S (85-95%?).
4) I do recall the G37x loaner lights were significantly superior.

Just got an email about the position I applied for and they'll be making an interview schedule by the end of the week. I am not very confident.

Oh, and it turns out, if I push my left stalk to high beam switch, but the headlights are off, nothing happens. If I pull the left stalk to flash to pass spring switch, with headlights off, the H4 halogens flare.

If the headlights are ON, then high beam and F2P have essentially the same operation, either lock the H4's on, or flare them.

What this MEANS, is I probably need another wire in parallel... no, no, I do not. 35W is 35W. Oh boy. So I already should have all the wiring I need to control this stuff, which is fantastic. I'd need one additional wire to bridge the high beam switch to the bixenon solenoid.

I also intend to try to reuse my ballasts, although they are remarkably slow for OEM equipment, with 2-3 second heat time. But free is a good price.

So, let's be fair on the cost.

$45 for the shrouds.
$135 for the projectors/lenses.
That's $180.

Then the bulbs are another $80, but those are a fixed cost; which is to say, the D2S bulbs are the same price as the D2R bulbs.

I might be able to get the D2R bulbs under warranty. They are under warranty, but I don't know if the warranty will provide replacements for 1500 hour worn blue bulbs, or only for totally dead bulbs. I suspect the latter.

Oh yeah, and I'm thinking of selling about $600 worth of stocks to pay for winter tires, so my parents stop debating the issue. They'll just come home from work one day and find my car on new snow tires.

My Chase Freedom has been approved, and per the paperwork they sent me with the application process, it SHOULD give me $300 bonus cashback with first purchase (yeah, I'm skeptical, but mom couldn't see a trick in it either).
