As far as bang for the buck, no contest - PMP >>>>>>>>> MBA. I know tons of MBAs who can't find jobs; for me, it is just for the checkmark and to get past screens.
I know 3 with tech knowledge + MBA, and all have management experience of varying degrees. None can find new positions.

In my case, it is bang for the buck. If you have the experience requirements, you can get a PMP for under $1K and with just a few months or less of studying. An MBA, on the other hand, requires a significant time and monetary investment and chances are, if you don't have any management experience or very little, it probably isn't going to help you, at least immediately.

I can't either. I've never met a PMP who had a clue to be honest. The PMP I'm working with from one of our vendors is completely and totally worthless.
Right place at the right time -- we have liberal arts majors making that here and they're not even VPs. Go figure.
