Got yelled at by transit security for crossing a level crossing when the gate is down. It's. Single track and I am crossing behind the train...to catch the train...

if it was single track then they were idiots, on a multiple track area though that'd be pretty stupid to step out, I was on a train that killed someone that way, person stepped out behind a commuter train stopped at a local station in order to cross the tracks, there were 3 sets of tracks and our train was continuing on through the middle track at about 45mph. So person steps out our conductor obviously couldnt stop and bam.
