Today I shall spend most the day fixing my brother in laws moms pc

This is the 4th time in a year she has destroyed windows.

She is a devout Christian and has used pcs at work for 20+ years as a NHS manager yet still manages to click on links and download whatever the funk is doing this. I have checked her internet history before and all that shows up is religious pages. Do hackers target these people?

Check download history.

My mom installed "skype". Which means she clicked on some random link that said "download skype". It installed about 20 pieces od malware but no skype. So she clicked on another link!

Then when her internet connection was toast, she disabled or uninstalled anything related to the internet.

if I remember correctly, religious websites has a higher infection rate than porn sites according to a survey a while back.
