Why pay someone else to fix something I can do myself with some research?

And am glad my dad is a retired mechanic with access to lifts & heated garage. Just pay price of parts & get to learn car repair stuff in the process. :awe:

heh, I repaired acquaintances computers for a time, I did half-assed jobs and charged a lot. You're right it's not fun if not done for me. Besides, people don't really notice the difference between a nice clean Windows installation and using the manufacturer's system restore tool, so why bother with the former?

I generally try not to half ass stuff. Although fresh OS install, software install & updates is crazy easy to do. Most times I don't feel confident that I did all I could do for a customer on my end, until all software & updates are most up to date & such, before it leaves the shop.
Me & boss always clash on that though. He has no problem half-assing stuff to get it out sooner. Leaving it to customer to do drivers, software & updates, when they aren't even competent enough to do that, without breaking something.

I had ended up not doing an finals essay on robotics during one of my first quarter classes, when started college. Ever since then I've checked up on what's happening with robotics from time to time. Always fascinating stuff. Too bad I'm not nerdy or too much into engineering enough to understand the finer details, it would probably make my peanut-sized brain explode.
