BTW do you think there's really any point in what I did? I bought 10,000 in RRSPs. But since I'm risk averse I post the money into short term GICs at about 1.3%. Would have to reinvest the money after they mature in a few years. Still better than the 0.25% or whatever the money was earning before in my account.

What is your question?
 
Does it make any sense to you to place that kind of money in short term RRSP GICs that earn only 1.3% vs say something riskier that will earn more? What would you do with said money if you were putting them in RRSPs?

Where's the tv watching couch?

There isn't one but when I redo the mancave, I might bring the loveseat from downstairs up here since we want to get some new furniture this year.

On the other hand, I may skip that idea entirely since we watch TV together downstairs or in the master bedroom. I am thinking about putting a workbench where desk #2 is, maybe flipping the main desk to go into the corner (will cut down on porn surfing though!) and then a long table against the wall for my retro gear.
