I would like to briefly indulge in a little objective discussion of the game with people who are civil and know football very well - ergo, hello, ICF.
1) Gisele Bundchen should have shut the fuck up.
2) Welker, Branch, Hernandez had a couple missed catches... but Brady's throws weren't as good as could be in those situations, and Brady himself had a few major errors, i.e. the safety and the pick.
3) I wish the Patriots had receivers of the caliber of the Giants receivers.
4) Eli was on fire. His statistics aren't blowout staggering level, but his overall performance made a good display of him indeed being Peyton's brother.
5) Officiating wasn't terrible, it mostly went for setup stuff - too many men, et cetera. They let PI slide a few times, let a facemask go, I can't comment on the offensive line holding, I simply can't see that stuff without replays targeting it.
6) Ignoring the claims that the Patriots O-line was holding the Giants D, the offensive line did a really good job of giving Brady time. He and the receivers just couldn't make use of it.
7) The end of the game was a colossal clusterfuck on so many levels. It was not the sort of two minute clutch performance that is expected from Brady. He brought an average game, and we needed him to have an amazing game.
8) The Giants being considered underdogs going in was very puzzling, I felt that they should've been favored to win. Even I expected it, and stayed away from the pre-game bragging.
9) I still do not believe Eli is truly elite, for two reasons. One, his earlier seasons are marred by inconsistencies and poor decisions, with a handful of brilliant passes and moves embellishing his record. Two, Cruz, Nicks, and Manningham could probably make Painter look decent. I swear those guys could pick bullets out of the air. I will say though, his play through the end of this season was at the elite level. I just feel that it isn't enough to offset his total body of work. This point I do not particularly desire to argue.
10) Did I mention Gisele should shut up?
