Bane's homework took significantly less time than anticipated, and I'm bored out of my mind without a large forum to kill time on. If I ever get banned from this place, I'm probably gonna smash my head into a wall out of sheer boredom.

So instead, I'll come back and post, but avoid the football threads, because I don't feel like getting into the mudslinging and name calling.

Wanting to transition out of IT. It is sucking the life out of me. PM looks unbearable too. Suggestions?

Check with your local electric company, they might have a use for an EE, although your significant IT skills might pigeon-hole you at this point.

Do you think he'll really be away for a week?

About 21 hours.

I'm not all that frustrated by the loss last night.

After watching SB 42, there is no sports team loss that can ever be as bad. As a measuring stick of "worst loss seen", it's pretty much as bad as can happen.

I am afraid my EE skills are too outdated. I might go ahead and try to convince my boss to move me more into a PM role for now. I am just concerned that if I say too much, I'll be out of a job.

I would like to briefly indulge in a little objective discussion of the game with people who are civil and know football very well - ergo, hello, ICF. :D

1) Gisele Bundchen should have shut the fuck up.
2) Welker, Branch, Hernandez had a couple missed catches... but Brady's throws weren't as good as could be in those situations, and Brady himself had a few major errors, i.e. the safety and the pick.
3) I wish the Patriots had receivers of the caliber of the Giants receivers.
4) Eli was on fire. His statistics aren't blowout staggering level, but his overall performance made a good display of him indeed being Peyton's brother.
5) Officiating wasn't terrible, it mostly went for setup stuff - too many men, et cetera. They let PI slide a few times, let a facemask go, I can't comment on the offensive line holding, I simply can't see that stuff without replays targeting it.
6) Ignoring the claims that the Patriots O-line was holding the Giants D, the offensive line did a really good job of giving Brady time. He and the receivers just couldn't make use of it.
7) The end of the game was a colossal clusterfuck on so many levels. It was not the sort of two minute clutch performance that is expected from Brady. He brought an average game, and we needed him to have an amazing game.
8) The Giants being considered underdogs going in was very puzzling, I felt that they should've been favored to win. Even I expected it, and stayed away from the pre-game bragging.
9) I still do not believe Eli is truly elite, for two reasons. One, his earlier seasons are marred by inconsistencies and poor decisions, with a handful of brilliant passes and moves embellishing his record. Two, Cruz, Nicks, and Manningham could probably make Painter look decent. I swear those guys could pick bullets out of the air. I will say though, his play through the end of this season was at the elite level. I just feel that it isn't enough to offset his total body of work. This point I do not particularly desire to argue.
10) Did I mention Gisele should shut up?

I'll even score a ~80GB SSD if finances permit :)

I firmly insist that is, by far, bar none, the most efficient dollar upgrade for a computer. It might even just flat be the best single part upgrade you can get, without even considering the cost.

You believe they'd actually fire you over wanting to change roles? D:

Gisele does need to shut the fuck up. She isn't helping the situation.

Brady played OK (except for the safety) until the fourth quarter, and he folded. Yes, there were drops but the throw to Welker was awful. Welker still should have caught it, however.
