Let's see... this year, the defense just dicked around all day, and nobody could get open.

Last year... the first quarter ended somewhere around 28-0 IIRC. I've always felt the sunlight was a major factor, with the Ravens rushing out of the sunlight, and the Patriots passing into it. But hey, that's weather, that's life. Football belongs outdoors. Proves we need a better rushing game, and a better defensive line.

2007... this is reaching back. Too fucking overconfident.

After reviewing this season, I do firmly believe that if the Colts hadn't suffered 20+ injuries, they would've gone to the SB again.

And by the same token, everybody in New England believed we were going to the Superbowl. Nothing is certain.

That being said, the Colts sure as hell wouldn't have struggled to hold their division.

Also, I still believe the Patriots would've fared better this past Sunday against the Colts instead of the Jets.

Wow so people win money (Fiat Currency) "betting" on ball games, eh?
Not that I would really care about it but donating large sums to charity would put a smile on my face. Perhaps I won't toss that Gray's Sports Almanac in the recycle bin after all!

Welker, Branch, Edelman, Tate... and who is Slater? And Taylor Price? WTF?

Taylor Price played in one game, three catches, 41 yards. He's a rookie. Okay, we'll keep him for now.

Slater just had his fourth year, and did absolutely nothing. Time to go.

Tate and Edelman are the future; both second year receivers, both did fine this year. Keep them.

Branch and Welker are obvious keepers.

But buying Fitzgerald would make me a very happy camper. We use the shotgun enough to make Branch the third string and still give him playing time.

I'm starting to think maybe I should just upgrade to Sandy Bridge.

Get the SSD and take that with you to the Ivy Bridge.
Trust me I've walked both and Ivy is much prettier than sand. Sand gets between your toes and just never seems to go away. Not to mention it wreaks havoc on the best of vacuum cleaners, etc.

Is Ivy Bridge S2011?

Yes!

I don't like these bridge code names. You have to be careful now with overclocking!
Burning bridges is bad. :p

I fear that S2011 will be more than I want to spend. I resolved after my last build that I'd go with more modest components.

I just saw a thread in the video cards forum comparing various processors at lower resolutions with the same vid card and I am surprised at how is shows the E8400 as a bottleneck in most of those games. They don't show any i7 results but I'd assume they would be way above everything else.

It will be the high(er) end but as long as RAM doesn't go stratospheric it should be no deal breaker.

How about "souping up" that chainsaw in the garage instead?

That brings up a question. With RAM prices the way they are now, would it make sense to buy some now? MotF and I discussed this a few days ago and I'm of the opinion that DDR3 will be the standard well into 2012 and possibly even early 2013.

Exactly. That's why I am thinking it might be wise to grab one or two 8 GB kits now. I'll kick myself if I wait until my upgrade and it is double the price.

What's even worse is buying hardware and seeing it sit on the shelf unused! :(

I could use the DDR3 in another box for now. My HTPC has 12 GB and if I bought an 8 GB kit, I could toss it in there for 16 GB total. :D

I hate seeing hardware sit too, but if it saves me $50+, I can let it sit.

UPS arrived at 10:33. Then went outside to bring in a second load of packages; during that time, FedEx arrived. Then UPS came back with the second load. I finally return.

Why does a HTPC need 12GB?

We have a fujitsu server with a single core Xeon and 512MB RAM running autopilot DJ software and virtual mixing and it runs great.

Your UPS batteries are dead.
