My car has been acting up all week. Either an unusually loud transmission whine or a new whine from the steering system while curving left through a rotary at speed range of 15 climbing to 25 MPH. Transmission has been whining for a while at that range, but it was a little different.

Yesterday it was lugging off the stop line. Closest comparison I have is if the clutch had been let out too quickly and the engine was getting bogged down by it, although I couldn't swear to that being the exact sensation. Minor problem - I have an automatic. :hmm: So it ended up practically stumbling through the intersection unable to gain speed.

Also, I just realized a few days ago the difference between wheel and crank horsepower, and that many companies love to use the crank (higher) number. Thus my 195 probably is more around 150. 🙁

I just find the job boring and wonder why technology hasn't replaced it yet. I mean, I NEVER speak to the pharmacist when I go. And now that Wal Mart requires you to "meet" with the pharmacist when you get a prescription, my wife won't go there.

Do they ask for ID when buying vinegar too?

Seriously, my wife got the bright idea to try to get her prescription filled at Wal Mart a few months ago to save a couple of bucks over CVS. So we went there and she gave it to them.

A little while later, the prescription was ready but they refused to give it to her until she talked to the pharmacist first. There were at least 5 old people in line to talk to the pharmacist. My wife said "No, that's fine, I don't need to talk to him." The lady refused to give her the prescription. My wife said "Look, I am not waiting over an hour in line to speak to him. Give me the prescription." They refused, so she told them to get screwed and walked out. She went to CVS and got it in a few minutes. 😀
