My father, mother, and sister could all get new Dell laptops for a total of $1550. That's about what I spent for mine, and those would all be superior units except for two related aspects. Fun what three years does.
 
Inspiron 15R, 15.6" 1280x800 W*zzzaaappp*LED. Aw, no power loss this time. 4GB DDR3, 500GB 5400RPM, Intel graphics, i3-370m 2.4Ghz 4 thread, 6 cell battery, Windows 7 x64. 5.68 pounds.

M1330, T9300 2.6-ish dual core, 9 cell extended battery, 13.3" 1280x800 LED screen, 4GB DDR2, 250GB 5400RPM, nVidia 8400GS, Windows Vista x64 (now 7 x64), less than 5 pounds.
 
Ok, so Gayner and GodlessAstronomer are brothers (news to me). Did anyone actually see the post that got GA banned before Dr. Pizza banned him for 2 months?
