Yes almost always. Depends on a lot of things but typically the V6 is a horribly unbalanced design, most V8s are balanced far better, and certainly I4s as well. Also depends on things such as stroke length of the engine. Longer stroke usually means slower rev.
V12V8 and I4 aren't all that well balanced themselves, so V6 must be terrible. Unfortunately, almost nobody uses flat six design because of width, and I6 is rare because of length.
I wouldn't want to own a car that large.The Audi A8's W12 is a pretty awesome motor.
