No you don't. If the glass is slightly damp it'll get a little frostier a little quicker, that's it. Wet glass gets icy, not pleasantly frosty and even bone dry glass will frost up nicely.

No you don't. If the glass is slightly damp it'll get a little frostier a little quicker, that's it. Wet glass gets icy, not pleasantly frosty and even bone dry glass will frost up nicely.

I was talking damp... I didn't say fill the glass half way with water first did I?

Wet it, shake it off, profit

That won't give you frost.

Right.

Frost is frozen dew. Dew is condensation. Condensation is liquid water that comes from humid air when it hits something cold.

Freeze a dry glass mug. Pull it out of the freezer. Unless you're in the middle of AZ on a really hot day, the glass will freeze the water vapour from the air and you'll get a nice frosty mug.
