Yeah, it's almost certainly an inductor.

It's part of the voltage regulator circuit.

I wish I could tell you its specs, but I don't know how to read SMD inductor markings... lol

As far as I can tell the solder didn't melt. Looked like the contacts just broke off. I'm the third or fourth owner of this Thinkpad. I think from the years of use, vibration, chassis flexing, bouncing around in a bag/case caused it. Could be wrong though.
