ATOT Electronics gurus, can anyone identify this part?

It's outlined in blue. Two of these came off the motherboard of my Thinkpad T23. I've already resoldered them and everything is working fine, I just want to know what those are so I just know what those are. Much thanks.

I think that's an inductor/coil..or something like that...I've forgotten the term.

Yeah, it's almost certainly an inductor.

It's part of the voltage regulator circuit.

Yep.

I wish I could tell you its specs, but I don't know how to read SMD inductor markings... lol

How or why did they get hot enough to melt thier solder? Something is not right here.

As far as I can tell the solder didn't melt. Looked like the contacts just broke off. I'm the third or fourth owner of this Thinkpad. I think from the years of use, vibration, chassis flexing, bouncing around in a bag/case caused it. Could be wrong though.
