ATOT Cyclists

Hello! I have an 05 Trek1200 with a few modifications. Road riding with this one on vision quest up in chicago this past season. Thinking I like the time trial riding as a team the best. 4 man was the best experience i've had on a bike

Mountain, I had a cannondale chase...just sold it a while back after a bad accident on some dirt jumps...but I have my eyes set on getting a GT full suspension for trail. Right now all I have is a trek 830al, which does the trick but not a performance rider...

I was a swimmer, now turned biker!

I have a Cannondale '01 Jekyll 3000 frameset now, but with a Fatty Ultra DL and some other mixed components in place of the Lefty and front disc brake that would have came with it. I cobbled it together from a couple bikes. I just serviced and upgraded one of my Bros bikes, a Trek 7200 Hybrid, and have ridden that the last few days.

Chiming in. I put a couple thousand miles a year on my Calfee Luna road bike and enjoy it. But my true love is riding my mountain bike (currently a Turner Flux). All day rides exploring areas where I don't see another person are what I live for. I throw in an occasional endurance (8-24 hours) mtn bike race as well.

Cycling is fun.

Also chiming in!

I ride a 2006 Fuji Roubaix Pro, which I absolutely love! Put a new pair of rims and shoes on it, but have kept it completely stock.

AHHHHh its too cold now
Have you considered spinning this time of year? A good class run by an actual cyclist is a great workout. They will call you out if you don't pedal circles too.

I now ride a Raleigh M50 to school most days. The bike is something like 8 years old.

Since it's sidewalks/roads on the trip and around campus I'd probably be better off with something other than a mountain bike though.

I ride an 11-year-old KHS mountain bike. I added a shock, clipless pedals, and a set of Crosslinks and recently had to upgrade to XT V-brakes because one of my shifters quit working (they were integrated shifters/brake levers, and it was more cost-effective to replace the shifters, brake levers, and brakes). I have a set of mountain bike wheels and a set of road wheels although I haven't been able to mountain bike much in the past few years. It really sucks because I used to mountain bike 70 miles a week. There's only one somewhat-OK trail within an hour of where I live now, which is very different than the 5 or so really good trails within an hour of where I grew up (Detroit area).

How do you guys get through the winter?! I'm dying not being able to ride.
A trainer and some training videos help to get me through the winter. I will hopefully get a headlight and tail light for Christmas, which will allow me to ride after work on the warm days until the days get longer.

Y'all HAVE to get a trainer if you want to ride through the winter. $150 will turn your bike into a wicked stationary bike. If you have a mountain bike, be sure to buy a $12-15 slick for the rear or else the trainers are very loud. They are incredibly useful and amateurs and pros alike use them. You can then watch tv/movie or get a class such as the spinervals dvd series to go along with.

K2 Mod 2.0, fully upgraded to Shimano 9 speed 105 compact double. Love it! Riding my 1990's Specialized Rockhopper fixie in winter though.

Hi there
I'm primarily a swimmer, but I like to do triathlons so I bike too. My dad has a kestral carbon 200m from the 90's that was top of the line back in the day, and still is good for aerodynamics now (which means it's good for a tri). He might get a kuota kredo or kharma in the near future and build a bike around one of those frames, which means... that's right, I get the sweet 15 year old bike! 😉 I do some xc too, but I don't even have a bike with suspension :S (it's an old Gary Fischer Marlin that I bought at a yard sale for like $20)
The one piece of riding equipment I REALLY want, well... actually it's apparel... the jelly belly pro riding jersey from 2006. They have a new style for 2007-08 and it's just plain ugly, but the 06 one is pimp.
