ATI Tray Tools 1.0.5.824 doesn't work with X1900XT

ATi tool should be fine for overclocking - I would guess it doesn't support the 1900XT either, though.

You have a X1900XT and you're worried about overclocking?

We should all be so lucky.....

the whole purpose of ATI tray is to overclock and get the most out of it. damn. I guess I need to be patient.

No, the whole purpose of ATT is to get a lightweight tweaker that replaces the bloated CCC.

No, the whole point of ATT is for Nvidia users to convince ATI users their driver software is useless. ATT makes stable systems crash... there I said it. I will suffer with the whole 45.7mb bloated CCC driver package and enjoy stability instead.

Speak of what you know and stop parroting the AEG guy. I thought he proved himself a liar already. :p

Don't worry, BFG has a fetish for many things: blowing things out of proportion/exaggeration, nitpicking, passive cooling, and arguing in circles without a point. I wouldn't say he's biased though, just thinks he's right all the time.

I'm actually more interested in fan control on my GPU, because CCC lets the thing get up to 80C before it'c cranks the fan.

ok, so why does ATI Tool give my EAX1900XT stock clocks of 500/600, and artifacts the desktop at anything much over that... this beta must still suck. In CCC it seemed that Asus keeps the clocks low like that until it goes 3D, but why can't I run stock (625/725) on a brand new card?

the fan control works though.

Last I checked (yesterday), ATT does not suport OC'ing for the x1900's. Also, even when using any other OC utility for those cards, you have to do a bunch of other things to get it to work - it's not as simple as it was with older cards. In the past, I've used ATT on my other cards to OC, tweak settings, create game profiles, and just about any other video card related tweak. I never had the program crash my machine, so I cant comment on its stability. It's a great program, IMO, and it just needs to be updated. What I did for now - I installed CCC, turned on all the HQ options, and uninstalled it. Now I use ATT for my game profiles, just be sure to disable overclocking when installing ATT and it will work partially for the x1900's, just without OC options. Also, if you're adventurous like me, then flash your XT with an XTX bios if you want a little more performance.

so does anyone know if ATI tray tools will be updated? or is it kind of a hobby project that's hit and miss.

Can you use ATI Tool in conjunction with CCC ? And what program are you referring to about
saying no to letting it handle OC'ing ? ATI Tool or CCC ? Im new to ATI coming from nvidia so im a little confused

I quite frankly don't give a crap about what ATi or nVidia users think, I use ATT because it's far better than CCC.

ATT makes stable systems crash... there I said it.
I haven't had any issues with it. If your system is crashing and you're overclocking then start by running it at stock speeds before pointing the finger at ATT.

Parroting the AEG guy? LOL! You must be new here.

I've been arguing with the "AEG guy" since practically the first day he registered here.

Ati tool and Ati tray tools are 2 different programs. I use ATT mostly for game profiles and to tweak advanced settings. Ati tool also has some tweaks, but I mostly use it to OC, because ATT does not support Oc'ing the x1k cards. On my x800 cards I used ATT for everything, including OC, but cant do it now with my x1900. The combination of Ati tool and ATT makes CCC totally unnecessary, so I didnt even bother installing it.

Here is what I have used for my card with great success. It is very easy to do and takes about 2 minutes longer to set up than other cards you may have dealt with.

1) Install only the Catalyst display drivers (reboot)
2) Install ATT and, like Joker said, check "no" for overclocking
3) Install ATI Tool Beta 14
4) Disable ATI Hotkey and ATI Smart services (Control Panel -> Admin Tools -> Services) (reboot)

Now you can start to oc your card if you'd like. The clocks are set to 2D clocks permanently so you have to oc back to stock 3D clocks and beyond. The voltage for the core is set to 1.175V which is why you couldn't oc much when you tried to raise it beyond 500MHz. Stock for these cards is 1.4V so you can start there and carefully move up. IMO max volts on the stock cooler with temps staying below 80C is probably 1.475-1.5V.

The easiest thing for me was to make a 3D profile of my max stable oc so that I don't have to overclock everytime I want to game. Make sure that after you make your profile that you save the voltages to that profile or your card will try to run at 2D volts with the 3D clocks. My brain is a little fuzzy this morning so this might appear a little muddled.

Do i have to reboot, cause when i selected to disable thouse things mp pc never asked me to reboot, also what are thouse for?

And when you say to save your profile in which do you save it in, ATT or Ati Tools?

So all you do is oc with Ati Tool and change the volts then what is ATT for cause i installed it before and i could not even change my Video cards fan setting.

ATT is for adjusting settings like AA/AF, vsync, game profiles, color profiles, quality options, that you would normally use CCC for.

I've been using CCC + ATT at the same time with my 1800XT for a week or so now with no issues. I use ATI Overdrive to run my card at 700/1600 in 3D mode, and use ATT to monitor temps. There's some problem with ATT not being able to recognize that the card has 2 different clocks, one for 2D and one for 3D - that's why it won't OC them right.

I am curious how high my card can go, I've maxed it out in CCC.
