ATI Silencer 4 $20.95 + shipping

I had one of these for my Radeon 9700 pro. They're really quiet and it is easy to install. I'm waiting for the Geforce 6600GT version. The XFX fan is pretty loud.
 
Do these things replace the existing fan on the card? Does it take up much more space than before?
 
Yes, it replaces the existing fan. It also takes up an additional slot next to the VGA card. But, it' cools down the vga card a lot, and it's pretty silent. SVC also sells it for a similar price, I think.

PCtoys was 23 + shipping, I think SVC was 25+ shipping, most places were 29 + shipping, every place else was over 30+ shipping.
 
great price...i paid regular price for it...

CAUTION: do NOT overtighten, that pos will snap off...literally

the bolt that the nut bolts onto isnt very sturdy, which was what snapped when i gave it an extra turn more than it wanted

also mine wasnt seated correctly because the backplate was a little bit out of shape somehow since its soft aluminum, so my temps sucked 🙁

just a word of caution for all y'all 🙂

oh btw, has anyone installed this on a dfi lanparty nf3?

True, but when I was doing a search and all that, found all the places that were under $25 were already out of stock. Hawt item it seems!
 
This is a must have if you have an X800 series card. It's just SO much better than the stock cooler, and leagues quieter too.
