It seems the 6600 is going to have serious competition ahead =D.

Will that have DDR3 memory just like the 6600 GT?

Prices of those cards have been updated. The ATI card that was supposed to compete with the 6600gt has been priced at 199$us. I believe thats the x700xt at 199... Saw it on Tomshardware or HardOCP cant remember which.
ATI WILL DROP the price of the X700XT card to compete with Nvidia's $199 mark. The original price slated was $249.
You don?t have to be Einstein to learn that even 1000 marks faster in 3Dmark03 X700XT would have serious problems selling versus the slower but much cheaper Geforce 6600GT.
Now both Nvidia's and ATI's mainstream offerings will cost the same and it will be one hell of a fight.
The X700XT will remain a 128MB card only, while the X700PRO will come as a 256MB card, but clocked slower of course.
The launch date remains September 21st.

The difference will be SLI. Even if they don't use it or it never actually works, the thought of buying another 6600GT down the line and nearly doubling performance has got to be a plus.

Note the source. Also, i dont think this will be cut and dry over who is the winner. Nv's new core on the 6800 seems to keep up w/ the xt on any game w/ lower clocks. I really don't think the inq has any idea what they are talking about. Their confident, yet blind opinions tend to piss me off when i read them.

I just hope its not long for AGP parts.. Why PCI-e has been hyped so much right now is beyond me... The amount of PCI-e motherboards on the martket is so small I chardly see how it makes good business sence.

if SLI never happens it is more like you feel as if you've been ripped off depending upon the performance difference between the 6600GT and the X700XT, besides, you need a dual 16x PCI-e slot motherboard before even considering SLI as a bonus.
Either they need to bring us more PCI-e boards or the AGP versions of these cards, all this talk about how great they are is just tempting us with smell and never giving us the food to to actually taste.

I have one word for you: Dell. If you take a look at their systems, the only ones without PCe are the 2400 and 4600, which are currently being phased out and replaced by the 3000 and 4700.
(Not that I'd buy a Dell just for PCe.)
