Nice find OP.

are you sure its the 9600 pro? it uses passive cooling.

I'd wager it's a 9600 pro underclocked to allow for passive cooling. ATI didn't really make other cards like the 9600 pro so they could get away with doing that and still labelling it as such... slightly more honest than the newegg 9800 pro BS.

Well, since it is the 256MB version it is a 9600 Pro EZ with the slower RAM for sure (notice the TSOP memory chips), so I'd say a core underclock is not out of the question. I was just talking to my wife about building a HTPC/PVR box sometime in the future, and if the card is indeed passively cooled it would be a great HTPC card (especially with the hardware assist a 9600 can give to DivX video). Hopefully these things will still be available a few months down the road when I'm ready to embark on the project.
The only thing that worries me is Asus building the card. I've read comments from quite a few unhappy Asus video card owners in Video and General Hardware.

The core clocked at 324 makes it a 9600 non pro. My 9600 non pro is also clocked at the same speed.
I dont intend this to be a tread crap, but $105 + shipping for a Radeon 9600 non pro is not so hot, imo.

Compgeeks advertised it as a 9600 pro with 256 memory. As I said all the programs I ran on it, none say pro, all say 9600

Maybe I didn't make this clear, but it looks to me that Compgeeks made a mistake

Anyone hear back from compgeeks yet? I just got this board too, and while it works fine, getting ripped off is not...
