Cool, i'm in the Market for a new laptop but I'm not in any rush to buy one. I can wait the six months or so for the 9600 to trickle down into the $800-$1200 laptop market.

I think it will be more than six months before that happens. Intel Extreme Graphics rule the roost in that price range right now. 🙁

You can grab a Dell Laptop with a 9000 for about $1300 AR right now, so I assume the 9600 should make it to that point by Christmas. Especially if this m11 chipset announcment is imminent.

Yep. Those battery consumption numbers will be nice once you have them available.

We are done with these numbers. The conclusion will be updated within 24 hours or so, depending on my workload.

- ATI might announce the m11 soon, but this does not mean that a product will ship soon. ATI announced the Mobility Radeon 9600 months ago, and only in the past few weeks have we seen a few products using it (a voodoopc notebook using R9600 was severely backordered last time I checked).

- The Radeon 9600 is made on a 0.13u process and probably more expensive to make and validate than the Radeon 9000. OEMs can probably get more Radeon 9000s at cheap prices than they can get Radeon 9600s

I think the Radeon Mobility 9600 will remain a high end part for quite some time.

i865chipset w/ Dual DDR400 and RAID 0/1? Sweet😀.
