Not a bad little board, but a little spartan; no NVMe M.2 slot, only two DIMMs. But for a budget A200GE gamer / browser box, looks pretty-much perfect.

I just wish it was ITX >_< I have a major build itch do do a simple 200ge or 2200ge (if I could find one) based NAS and BOINC rig in a Node 304. I have a Gigabyte A88XN-WIFI (it might be dead but can't be sure without parts) that I'm resisting buying parts for because I know FM2+ is a bad idea in 2018.

I would guess ANY MSI B350 board has both game mode in bios and BCLK OC... even A320 does BCLK oc.
The MSI B350M PRO-VDH looks ok to me.

But no Game Mode(petty sure its imposible on A320 it must be hardcoded on Ryzen NBs).

So ~$52 or $65.62 delta (w/ stock 200ge cooler) for a lot more performance. The Ryzen 3 can be overclocked as well. I do like that the 200ge can easily be passively cooled though. Doesn't seem worth it dropping to the 200ge unless you can find a dirt cheap used a320 mATX board.

No offense, but going out and buying specific boards, just for a meager 3Mhz BCLK OC x 32multi seems kind-of a waste. If it's "free" on whatever board that you choose, well, that's another matter.

Have you tested 103Mhz BCLK with M.2 NVMe drives?

Something that i did not realised at first and i just realised looking at the A320 bios, is the MSI boards allows for manual multiplier change even on the 200GE, A320 cant apply that, but an B350 may. And as i was thinking about it, i came across this video.



Looks like "locked" means nothing to MSI.

EDIT: Or maybe its not MSI, maybe AMD removed the limitation on Agesa 1.0.0.6?

How about the Asrock A320-ITX? If you can get it.

The killer feature is that unique for an A320 board it features an i211AT NIC. Which should be perfect for NAS application.

The only thing I can add here is that on my X370 Taichi (which has external clockgen), my BPX NVMe drive flips out at any bclk above 100 MHz. It seems to vary from drive to drive. That is using the full-speed NVMe slot connected to the CPU. I think you can control PCIe speeds on the NVMe slot connected to the chipset. So if I opted for a slower/higher-latency slot, I could possibly engage in bclk OC. I haven't tried it yet, though.

I do appreciate that it is possible to overclock one of these APUs on some motherboards (notably MSI ones, I guess). Reminds me of when I had my little Sempron 2800+ Newcastle overclocked to something like 2.3 GHz. I couldn't hang with the big boys, but it was fun to set up and use anyway. Budget OC is mostly dead nowadays. All hail the budget OC!

There is any app that can do software overclock of Raven IGP? These MSI motherboard dosent seem to support IGP overcloking. ANd ryzen master dosent work.

Afterburner dosent seem to support 200GE either.

I wonder if AMD would be better off designing a proper 2c/4t Ryzen based APU instead using defective dies? But something with 5 CUs instead only 3 of them.

Bundled with a low profile HSF suitable for SFF sytems, I bet AMD would have no trouble at all them selling them.

Precisely.

It has it's uses, but for desktop, there is really no getting around the 2200G's value. I view it more as the spiritual successor to the AM1 Athlons, then as a "real" desktop CPU. In that context, it really isn't a bad proposition.

To be fair, if boards like this ASRock were ~$60 then the 200GE with a SFF case would make for small low cost computer.
