Actually, I was doing OH press... I just strained myself too hard on the last set, it wasn't super heavy or anything. I think I pulled the muscle between my shoulder blade and my spine and it has been sore for about 2 weeks now, on top of that about daily I pull a different muscle in my upper back.

On a good note, I tried to OH press yesterday in the gym and the back pain didn't seem to effect my lifting and the lifting didn't seems to make the pain any worse today. So I'll keep going 🙂 unless of course I get hurt again...
 
I'm gonna have to probably pass too. Maybe I'll record a weak lift, my shoulders just aint up for maxing anything out.

On a positive though, I'm still working squats and ended up going 20 lbs up from my 1rm after the last contest.

Mate, any lift is better then no lift as long as you don't get injured!

You shouldn't be pulling your muscles like that so often. Do you stretch propery before you train? Do you warm up the exercise and progressively increase the weight till your training sets?!

Finally got my AT forum account working again.

Tested my press max on Monday night. Went like this:

Bar x5/95x5/135x2/155x1/165x1/175x1 (5# PR)/185xF/185xF/180xF

I got 175 without a huge struggle (will try to get a video up) and I pushed it out infront a bit. I wanted 185 while on this cycle but it was not happening, got it to about my eyes on the first attempt and failed. Should've just gone for 180, oh well. Will do another strength cycle and get it next time.
 
Any chance of extending the competition another week or two? My shoulder is just now getting healthy now and I wanted to get in a few more workouts before going for a 1RM...

I second this. I'm dropping body weight right now in addition to being somewhat stronger than I was when I recorded my first entry. By the end of next week I should be able to lift more than my projected body weight at that time.

Oh yea, forgot to post in the thread: did a "Crossfit Total" workout on 12/29 and got 405/195/455 squat/press/deadlift.

CRAP I forgot to do an entry....ugh my last workout with them was this past wednesday; 145 lbs. (for 5) at 195.5 lbs.
 
I think I'm in a much lower weight class now from the first event.


And I also vote for deadlift for the next event.
