Thank god!
Goddammit
Holy shit
Dear lord!
[god] bless you
oh thank the lord!
Oh god... o god o god o god
i'm going to begin hunting down and punching religion thread starters. thx bye.
I like the science idea better. Thank science! Besides you would offend the gays, and you dirty liberal god haters don't want to do that.![]()
"jesus h. tapdancin fuckin christ on a goddamn pogo stick"
Yea because anyone who isn't religious is automatically a liberal douche bag as well.
Funny that most all the people I know who believe in god swing left, and vice versa.
and what about us heathens who swing more closely to libertarian than right or left?
all you fuckers view government wrong.![]()
So, now that we can return to this topic after the mass god and atheist thread barrage...
I call upon you, my friendly heathens.
What say you, in regards to language use. Do you continue to use common language idioms that make reference to theistic notions such as god and his powers?
Phrases such as:
Thank god!
Goddammit
Holy shit
Dear lord!
[god] bless you
oh thank the lord!
Oh god... o god o god o god
and so on...
Do you still use these phrases, or have you discovered some other readily understood word combination that describes the same point you wish to make at that time?
I have found this topic confuses some people who know I lack theistic beliefs. They say, "oh why do you say "xxxx" if you don't believe? I knew you believed in god." And I have to reply, "no, I simply use those phrases because that are common language, and know of no other way to quickly make the same point or exclamation."
:awe:
That reminds me.
After saying "Jesus Christ!" one time, I had someone say, ":gasp: don't use his name like that!"
it made me lol then (that was 6th grade)
it makes me LOL harder now.
It seems to have been aimed at that Pharisees and Sadducees who would pray in public out loud (at the top of their lungs on street corners and stuff) so that others would think they're super religious but behind closed doors were as evil as they come.
My point is that religion has nothing to do with politics, even though right wing radicals have been trying to make it part of their politics as of late. Now people think that if you think right that you are religious
Could just as easily call them them blasphemers or whatever for celebrating Christmas when they do.![]()
