Some of you atheists may want to get "The lucifer principal" by Howard Bloom (I think). It talks about ideas as being living organisms called memes.

HAHAHAHAHA...i can't help myself. Flaming like a burnt weinie on a grill. I'm gonna add my 2 cents in here. Being atheist myself, the one thing that really bothers me is other atheists, not the christians. You other atheists out there have no common sense. Just cause you know something, and think you know it all, doesn't mean you can just trash everything. I hate how you all think your "cool" cause your all rebelius and Sh*t (sorry mods). "WOO, everyone look at me, i hate god, so there" ...Get a life. If you believe something, and you know that your right, good for you. I really hate when other atheists go around and spread their word. Atheism is realism, its realizing it for yourself. You choose to see the truth, not go around yelling and saying "the bible is wrong" or "jesus doesnt" exist and pissing off everyone else. I think most of you out there just choose to be atheist so you can brag. Keep it to yourself if you feel that your right, dont go getting on christians and other religions because they think differently

<<<Just cause you know something, and think you know it all, doesn't mean you can just trash everything. I hate how you all think your "cool" cause your all rebelius and Sh*t (sorry mods).">>>

I am not trashing one person or thing. If anything an atheist gets trashed by xians and other religious groups. WE get flammed, but it's ok. I am far from rebellious and I surely don't think I am cool because I am an atheist.

<<WOO, everyone look at me, i hate god, so there" ...Get a life.>>>

An atheist doesn't believe in God so how can we hate it? Buy a clue...

<<<If you believe something, and you know that your right, good for you. I really hate when other atheists go around and spread their word.>>>

And xians don't? Give me a break. There are a half dozen Christian station on my cable service. Turn the TV on Sunday morning and look how many show there are dedicated to gawd and the babble. WTF is wrong with showing our point of view?

<<<Keep it to yourself if you feel that your right, dont go getting on christians and other religions because they think differently>>>

THEN TELL XIANS and FUNDIES to stop feeding our minds with this nonsense. I turn the TV on, and I see CHRISTIAN PROPOGANDA. OK...so I have the right to turn the TV off. I pick up a Newspaper...MORE XIAN PROPOGANDA. I walk down the street. There is a church on every corner. I go to work...more crap. I am constantly given stupid little pamphlets at work, yet I cannot tell a customer what I am thinking in fear of losing my job. Everywhere I go I am bombarded. When the xians stop....the "angry atheists" will stop....

The problem is we ARE constantly bombarded, but guess what, theres nothing we can do. Why get angry and hateful because we are different. Religion can run the same as race...and its almost to racist proportions. I hate it too, but they have their rights as we do. We are seen as "bad" because we dont believe in god. No sense in making us seem any worse than we are already portrayed by flaming. They think they are right, we think we are. No one wins, and debating goes on for infinity because they are too stuborn to change. OH WELL :)

It is Written..."My Words are Spirit and they are life, and health to every aspect of your physical existance".

Howard Bloom has had a glimpse of what Men in Covenant with God have known for a long Time, it is that Gods Words are living things.

The words of Lucifer are cursed, and they are dead.

What?

The idea of memes goes against religion. It states that in order for a meme to survive it must spread itslelf to different people. Religion is the best way to do it because of the consiquences of not believing.

Also, Lucifers words are not dead nor should you wish them to be.

There is one important thing to add, that "endured" has been set for the Lake of Fire "eternally".

And VERY soon.

Lake of fire? Do you honestly think there is fire in hell? Think of it, it is supposed to be a place with out God. Fire is a creation of God, so you wouldn't see any fire there.

Reasoning does not reveal Truth, in matters of the upper realm.

It is Words that reveal, with certainty.

As with any successful code, every crossed t and dotted i, will come to pass.

MrPALCO,
I explained why your argument was circular, to which you have no response except to say I'm copping out. That is utter hypocrisy. Someday, when "soon" has passed and you realize that Truth(tm) is not what you thought it would be, maybe you won't skip rational dialogue as if it were written in lemon juice.

I have already "realized" that Truth is not based on what I think. It is based on what is...Written.

Rational dialog?

I have had many rational discussions with my 5 year old, but I'll wait on discussing Rocket Science, until she has gained Wisdom.

Then why is the religion of the ancient Greeks or the ancient Egyptians not regarded as the truth? There are records of their practices. There are many writings (especially the Egyptians) that explain what their religious ideology is based.

How can the ancient xians come along, steal ideas from the surrounding cultures, slap a tag on it, and call it their own? The Egyptians were practicing their religion LONG before the "righteous" came along...

RE: MrPalco's

<...Hitler, Stalin, Darwin...>

Certain Christians, compelled by the need to maintain a pretense of moral superiority or simply for the sake of the credit and advantage attaching to virtue, demonize persons who don't share their personal views of perceived reality and thereby showcase the hypocrisy of Christian brotherly love as love intended only for Christians: no love, no respect.

'If you're not Christian, you're unacceptably different -- evil mass murders all.'

<...Keep it to yourself if you feel that your right, dont go getting on christians and other religions...>

Dude, take your own advise and don't 'go getting on' us Atheists.

Sheesh. Where's your sense of logic?

Here is what I read the start of this thread.

Would you say that this site sought to reach out in "love and respect" to the "christian", by the atheist?

I have complete respect for every person. God loves every person, equally.

However, in the free market there is a contest of ideas. If you enter that marketplace with your wares, prepare to be tested.

Aggressive testing implies no lack of Love, but will sharpen the Words of those that test...and are tested.

What I did say , as the second person to reply to this thread, is:

"I think the site lacks a certain measure of argumentative seasoning: much of the wording is inflammatory and get's in the way of the intended message.

I'd say that the rhetoric should be toned down so the facts and rational, logical message can be better appreciated by a wider audience, and not just the choir."

<...Aggressive testing...>

If you're testing Atheists by calling them Hitlers and Stalins, then test this: Bigot!

The "evidence" in support of the bible has only served to point out that it makes referances to people who were referanced in other works of the same time period and/or were known to exist. The bible could very easily be a book of fiction that included referances to actual people and places. One should also point out that the idea of a benevolent god does not wholly take shape until the new testament. The old testament is full of stories of an angry vengeful god, you need only to look at some of the earlier posts to this thread. The bible is a wonderful book on the christian mythology. Personally I contend that we are all atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than the christians do. When christians understand why they reject the Roman and Greek gods they will understand why I reject their god.

MrPalco;

The fact is, you put no smiley either after 'Hitler' or 'Stalin' -- other than the stock smiley you place at the end of most of your posts for times just such as this -- so expecting a smiley after Bigot! is hypocritical of you.

Hmm?

<< ...logic? Reasoning? >>

Is this the source of life...for the atheist?

MrPalco: The source of life for the Atheist is the same as for the christian, oxygen and food.

EDIT: Darwin is the equivilant of Hitler or Stalin?! I think that comparison is a case of "better to be silent and have others think you are a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Ok, so why did Jesus' disciples (-JI) all let themselves be brutally martyred? Why would they die for something if they knew they had just made it up?

Why would millions upon millions give up their lives when they could live if only they answered, "No." There must be something more than O2 and food here.

ug,

<< Dude, take your own advise and don't 'go getting on' us Atheists. >>

Maybe your getting me wrong. I am atheist too, so why would i just choose to bash our own? I'm not. What im trying to say is that we need to cool down a bit. No one is gonna win this war, thats quite obvious. xians have their strong beliefs, so do we. I find this thread interesting, but at the same time a big waste of time. They are so wraped up in all their beliefs, things wont change. Just know your right, and youll be the better man.

<...why did Jesus' disciples (-JI) all let themselves be brutally martyred>..>

Why did the followers of jones in Guyana all drink poisioned Kool-aid? Or the Heavens Gate members take vodka and sleeping pills(?)? Why did David Koresh and his followers at Waco, Texas, burn themselves up?

Could it be that self-reinforcing delusions are best cultivated within groups led by a self-proclaimed leaders claiming special insights and powers?
