No, they're just disorganized because they can't make up their minds. :p;)

For that matter, neither can the realm of religious people. We've gone through thousands of religions, and each one was absolutely certain it was the right one. Most of the religions which have ever existed are now extinct. Maybe Zeus is sitting there on Mt. Olympus, superbly pissed off now, since the entire world (well, 99.999....% of it) is now an atheist with respect to him, all believing in false gods, or none at all. That, or else we are still 100,000 years away from finding the one true religion, and everyone in the meantime is going to UltraHell for being so blind as to not see it.

The evidence would certainly point to religions being a purely human construct, including all the characters therein, thus there would seem to be no good reason to place much faith in constantly changing ideologies which claim to be receiving their beliefs and values from an absolute perfect source - a source which is merely one of the characters written of in text.
A book doesn't become nonfiction just because one of its characters peeks out through the 4th wall and says so.

What made me change?

Well, I gained insight into the Bible by going to a 12 week seminar by a priest at the local Catholic church. He gave alot of insight into how people are, why they do it, and what God is all about. He used real world examples, and then used biblical passages to explain what is going on spiritually. But it made alot of sense. It converted me. It made much more sense than anything I heard come out of an Athiest's mouth recently. Things like the OP are one of the examples. The goals of Atheism is not just deny God, but it goes a bit farther, it's to discredit God and religions and make their followers seem foolish. I may be foolish, and maybe all Christians are, but Atheism is following in the same footsteps. It's turning into a culture, and with all cultures living among each other, there will be clashes, and that's what causes conflict, not religions.

You never really were Atheist were you?

Really? I know atheists who complain about shit like this all the time. You don't hear them complaining because they represent about the same % as Mac users in the US. And why don't you hear Mac users bitching about getting viruses? Because there aren't many Mac users to complain in the first place.

So basically you had a personal belief. Then you went somewhere and heard propaganda and were convinced otherwise.

Basically, you were sold. By a salesman.

Sometimes it takes the words of one to make another see the light. God is always using people as his vessel to spread his word. He used the word insight, meaning he learned something he previously didn't know.

Knowledge is a good thing...

Yes, and sometimes it takes the words of someone like Billy Mays to convince you that you need another household cleaner when you really dont.

Same idea.

And because of Billy Mays I use Oxyclean all the damn time and it's probably the single best non food product I buy. You might not need Oxyclean but I do, and I find to be an amazing product.

Oxyclean is the best cleaner I've used, I bought it because of a "salesman" as you put it. Without the sales person I wouldn't know about this product and would be stuck using something vastly inferior. So using your own example brandonb was LUCKY to attend that seminar.

Nah I'm good, I got Jesus in my life and my Oxyclean for keeping my clothes extra bright and stain free. I don't need anything else, thanks though...

Sounds like hell or emptiness IMO.

Now the only differences between you and I, is that you probably give up 10% of your weekly income to some guy now for his "insights"

People who don't believe in the power Oxyclean might as well be Atheists.

I'll believe it when I can see proof of Oxyclean's existence.

Ads like this are just the beginning, we'll see them going door to door soon. Like brandonb said, Atheism isn't just about not believing, its about discrediting religion and belittling people.

The way Atheists act is hilarious if you ask me, sad, but mostly hilarious. They bitch and moan about religion , yet are always talking about religion.

If your Atheist, fine, good for you, live your life and stop worrying about everyone else. No one needs to know your Atheist, no one wants to know, stop telling everyone no one cares. Except of course you obviously care, because you keep bringing Atheism and religion up.

Non-atheist: "Nice day."
Atheist: "It is a nice day. Also, there's no God and religious people are idiots."

This makes as much sense as a god that saves one person from a disease and yet acts in mysterious ways with another person who succumbs to the disease. Love is hate. Sounds like 1984.

A lot of people talk incessantly about terrorism these days. Hopefully this is a temporary condition.

I've got a pet rock. I thought the idea was stupid but, since falling in the shower and hitting my head one fateful day years ago, I've found it to be quite comforting. It's almost maintenance free and keeps me company when I'm unsure about the world. It gives me purpose in life. It is glorious and I want everyone else to know this. I'm going to quit my job and travel the world to spread the awesome hard joy. I know once people hear my rantings^h^h^hpreachings, they will see the error in their soft lives.

yes, atheism is religion to some and will become as radical and militant as other religions as anti-religion atheists outlaw religion and oppress traditional religions

Let me know when atheists start killing people in the name of atheism.

Mao and Stalin exterminated the religious because they were religious.
"The world will be better off when these stupid religious people are dead", and they went about it with a vengeance.

Seriously, the majority of Americans identify with some religion. If they were foaming at the mouth, how is it that you are alive? Your good looks?

My POV is that I really don't care what you are. If you are a dick, I won't like you if you are an atheist or the Pope.

If someone starts on atheists as being immoral child rapers I'll be all over their ass. If some pompous douchebag believes that religious people are stupid, then hey screw you too.

In both cases your shit stinks.
