I know what it means, I also understand that atheism hasn't always been a position "lacking" belief...

You do remember the what Marxist-Leninist atheism was, right? Look it up, it was clearly an godless ideology designed to eradicate religion by promoting a purely materialist world-view.

I count it as being a matter of time before they mobilize against creationism.

I won't pretend to know, but I do know that every generation has its brand of militant-styled active atheism.

Marx and Lenin promoted the idea that religious people cared more about making it to heaven than to eradicate the suffering of mankind, while Dawkins-styled atheism posits that religion stifles the progress of the modern world and should be done away with.

Same sort of twisted ideology that will end up in untold suffering.

I don't see a problem with dialectical materialism as a thought process or as a mental framework. I do however have an issue with it in the sense of being promulgated by a government, just as I do with religion.

I'm not familiar with the context in which Dawkins stated that but I have a feeling that it wasn't a static statement.

I am unaware of any attempt ever by atheists in America to attempt to do away with creationism. I am, however, aware of many attempts by Christians to enforce teaching of creationism. It seems if anyone should be worried around here its us atheists.

It seems odd to be worried that Christians will be persecuted in America, considering the fact that when there has been persecuting done based on religion in America it has been almost exclusively Christians doing the persecuting.

So? Have all the fun with your religion but don't try and change the world to you beliefs.

And as far as mobilizing against creationism where can I sign up. Creationism is a blight upon this society I have no patience for people who believe this because unlike god and spirituality there is actually scientific proof that Creationism is wrong.

I guess I should clarify that as their creators.

We will just be the human infection.

Certainly all people realize creation occurs every single day.

Heck...PBS even has a station called Create and it has nothing to do with religion at all.

I for one allow and demand that my children watch the Atheist channel 24/7......it`s far better than cartoons that are on other stations. Plus they get 24/7 humor.....the total entertainment package!!
