I refuse to travel in the spires anymore. There is not a damn quaint thing about 4 legged transport only among that gawd forsaken place.

Hah that's funny. Spires is actually one of my favorite zones, and I think half of it has to do with the way it's structured with only having a ground mount.

Nagrand on the other hand? That's just damn annoying and I hate it.

Ðidnt see a new copy of the Instance when I synced this morning. So I checked and seems they pussied out about talking the no-flying announcement and lack of 6.2 so took the week off.

It's pretty clear they designed Nagrand 2 before they got rid of flying. Some parts of that zone are annoying as hell on a land mount.

That's pretty awesome. Sorta creepy though after seeing it in cartoony Warcraft graphics for all these years. I just can't picture WoW with realistic graphics.

I can.
I've often wondered about the tools that WoW uses. I believe I've read that the WoW-engine has been developed out of the same engine they used for Warcraft3. If the engine is that old, I bet the tools are that old too. Anyone who has ever made a map with the Unreal-Editor, knows that it doesn't take that much time to make something basic.

I often wondered why Blizzard would not just throw out 2-3 new heroic dungeons every 2 months. That shouldn't be too much work. Especially if you re-use textures, re-use models for NPCs, etc. And it would be (meaningful) content for a lot of players. It can't be just because Blizzard management wants to minimize development resources. With a proper Editor, you put only 2-3 people on it, and they would produce a constant stream of new dungeons year-round. Must be something more. I suspect that their tools (level-editor, etc) are so bad, and so slow and clumsy, that it takes them ages to produce something. Such a shame.

New bosses? New loot? New challenges

If it's just the same old thing with the same skin in a slightly different layout, what's the point? Content can be cranked out. Good content, not so much.

IMO, they should implement procedurally generated dungeons. And maybe dungeons which get progressively more difficult and drop progressively higher level loot, but when you wipe you have to start over from the beginning.

went to check the results from the our dear leader q&a, and it seems blizz has taken the fansite plan from last week.

Posted by Lore
The Q&A is being moved to Saturday, June 13, at 2:00 PM Pacific time (5:00 PM Eastern, 11:00 PM Central Europe), and I’ve updated the original post with the new schedule. The window of time to submit questions will be extended as well.

Look forward to seeing you then!

655/665 BoE's have essentially stopped moving. I got lucky a couple weeks ago and got two 655 gloves from HM missions and two 665 BoE's from salvage. I've relisted every day since, the gloves are down to ~2k each. Fortunately, one of the 665s was a ring that I dumped for 15k the first day I had it. The other is ... I think a necklace maybe ... I've relisted every day and am down to 3-3.5k on it and can't get a taker.

that's totally server dependent, guildie of mine just unloaded a 665 mail BOE for 28k (crit mastery) not sure which slot

BOEs from BRF still sell for 25k+ for mythic versions

Yeah I realize the server plays a part in it, but those 4 items are actually on 3 different servers (Dark Iron / Alliance, Zul'jin / Horde, Blackrock / Horde).

This is honestly the first time I've ever had problems moving anything on ZJ. Blackrock is usually pretty decent too as far as selling anything. Dark Iron I'd expect problems, but oddly enough that's actually where I offloaded the 665 ring almost instantly.

FWIW, I've been trying to unload a Lucky Double-Sided Coin (665 BoE Trinket, +Crit, with a +Agi on use) and have had a hard time. Didn't sell on AH after 3 tries at the average price reported by WoWHead (25k).

Makes sense. With 6.2 and Hellfire Citadel imminent, I doubt people are eager to pay as much for something that's roughly equivalent to what you could get in Hellfire Citadel LFR.

Edit: and worse than crafted gear.

flying coming back sooner than later, cause ya know it was stupid the way they handled it.

We appreciate the spirited discussion on the topic of flying. The subject has brought out passionate viewpoints and sparked insightful conversations on our official forums and blogs, on community sites, and in chat channels. Your feedback has been a valuable part of the ongoing conversations within Blizzard as well, and today, we’d like to share some updated plans for how we’ll handle flight going forward.

The Thrill of Discovery
At the heart of the initial plan to restrict flight in Draenor (even after players reach level 100) lies the design goal of providing the best moment-to-moment gameplay possible in the outdoor world. From navigating the lava flows of the Molten Front in Patch 4.2, to breaching the Thunder King’s stronghold in Patch 5.2, to reaching the heights of the Ordon Sanctuary on Timeless Isle in Patch 5.4, to uncovering secrets deep within Gorgrond’s jungles on Draenor, World of Warcraft is full of memorable moments that are only possible when players explore the world by ground. And as we’ve continued to develop content over the years, we’ve focused more and more on providing players with these kinds of experiences.

However, while we firmly believe that keeping your feet on the ground is a key part of discovery in WoW, we also recognize that breaking free from those restrictions can be fun and rewarding as well, especially for those who’ve already fully experienced the game’s world content. With that in mind, we’re planning some changes in the near future that will allow players to enjoy their hard-earned flying mounts in Draenor—in a way that doesn’t compromise the excitement of ground-based exploration.

Mastering the Outdoor World
In an upcoming Public Test Realm build, we will be introducing a new meta-achievement called Draenor Pathfinder. You’ll earn this achievement in Patch 6.2 by mastering the outdoor environment of Draenor—exploring Draenor’s zones, collecting 100 treasures in Draenor, completing the Draenor Loremaster and Securing Draenor achievements, and raising the three new Tanaan Jungle reputations to Revered. Initially, this achievement will award a rylak mount: the Soaring Skyterror, one of the native beasts that roam Draenor’s skies. Players will remain ground-bound on Draenor until a small follow-up patch (6.2.x), when all players who have earned Draenor Pathfinder on at least one character will unlock the ability to fly in Draenor on all their level 90+ characters.

We believe this strikes the right balance between ensuring ground-based content lives up to its full potential, while providing players who’ve already fully experienced Draenor’s outdoor world extra freedom to “break the rules.” This also provides a general blueprint going forward for content to come. Players will explore new and undiscovered lands from the ground, and then once they’ve fully mastered those environments—a notion that continues to evolve with each new expansion—they can take to the skies and experience the world from a new vantage point.

Thank you for your heartfelt feedback. We’ll see you in (and soon, above) Tanaan Jungle.

I'm really wondering if they haven't gone full retard.

I think something like Level 100, fully exploring every zone and maybe x number of Draenor quests completed would have been a good requirement. Sounds like they're just finding ways to keep people grinding longer.

I like that it's going to be account wide as long as one character gets it.

Most of the players left in WoW must be the OCD-type. The type that needs to collect everything. Collect all the gear, collect all the pets, collect all the mounts, collect all the exalted reputations, collect all the achievements. Because if you care just about gameplay, you'd be playing The Witcher 3, or GTAV or any cool new other game. Anything besides WoW.

OCD collectors want maximum reward per hour. Max experience/hour, max reputation/hour, max gold/hour, etc. For those people it is a severe psychological disadvantage if they can't fly. They can't be happy, when they know that their gain/hour would be 20% higher if they could fly.

So Blizzard caves in.

I wonder how desperate they are now. The subscription numbers must have plummeted since November 2015. They have a lot of leverage to play with the numbers, because of the Asian numbers. (Somebody played 1 hour of per-hour-paid WoW during the last 3 months ? That's +1 to the statistics). So it won't be obvious how many customers they lost because of WoD. But it must be a huge percentage of their western market.

It's the only reason I can think of, why they suddenly allow for flying in Draenor.

Requiring players to unlock a (big) achievement to fly, in stead of just letting them pay 5k or 20k gold, that is actually pretty good.
