After reading up on artifact weapons, I think Ret pally will get more complex as you earn the abilities your artifact gives you. Probably why they're a little boring right now, although I still find them OK.

Yeah I'm a PC Peasant playing WoW in 1080p instead of 4k. My ui is large because I play WoW on my TV from my Couch. It'll be better if I can get a 65" 4k tv sometime but until then I only toggle on the default ui size only when I play it on my desk pc monitor.

People can tell me otherwise until they're blue in the face, but I'm killing myself to be mediocre on the pally while exploding the meters on my Unholy DK on cruise control. It feels like Patch 3.0 in PvE where despite Ret burst, the sustained is sub par in a time when DK's are the best at everything they touch. Blizzard WILL allow these kinds of disparities to exist an entire expansion between looking at it again.

PSA, in case you were interested in leveling an alt, these Legion invasions offer massive XP. I think you can do them as early as level 10, and the XP scales, as well as the gear in the chests. Strategy is to hold onto the chests until 100 as they will have ilvl 700 gear. Also, you don't even need to participate. Just being in the zone gives you the XP for each stage of the invasion. I sat in Westfall for about 15 mins yesterday on a mage alt and leveled twice without moving an inch.

May try that on an old ally char to get high enough for the alliance only cosmetics.

And so far seems to be a rather hefty increase from my short play time today.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

We agree that our initial change made Invasions too unrewarding for characters who weren’t at max level, so we’ve just applied a hotfix that increases XP gains from killing Legion invaders. Since Invasions are only around for a short period of time, we want them to feel lucrative, and provide incentives to actively participate in them.

You should be seeing a lot more progress on your XP bar for helping your fellow Azerothians fight the Legion now.

No it wasn't. The consensus on the WoW forums was that it was a net loss, requiring more runs for the same XP and the feedback was scathing. "Blizzard pay has been reduced by 50%, but you can now work twice as many hours as before!" as one poster put it. Meh. Blizzard just reverted the nerf as a result of the outcry anyhow. Seems to me they should have just made the first invasion completed for the day award a boat load of XP with each subsequent invasion that day giving less and less.

They didn't actually, they added more XP to mob kills, but it still doesn't come close to the previous per invasion amount from initial reports. Looks like they wanted to squash any chance of low levels getting big xp boost from just being in the area and it has turned into a big meh.

Meh the poor oversight all around does not give me high hopes for Legion. I thought these things were supposed to be downleveled for alts? I do fine on my 100 but there are guys one shotting my lower level alts. It kind of sucks for melee because you think you're alright attacking from behind but with no dedicated agro the elites are flipping front and back like crazy, making their frontal attacks basically impossible to always avoid.

Sounds like if someone else tags a mob, your xp gets greatly reduced so the bonus xp really isn't much of a bonus so net xp is down.

I'm still getting really solid XP on my mage via invasions, but I've also got basically no travel time (hearth set to WPL for Hillsbrad, engineering trinket to Tanaris... my longest travel time is taking the Cat port to Hyjal and flying down to Azshara)

on my low-level alts who'd need to take a griffon or boat to get anywhere, though, it's just not worth it when I could run a quick 5-man and get far more XP in less time.
