You had to be max level to do Cata and MoP. It was a quest that granted you access to the new expansion.

never did finish my legendary quest, though. the solo instance really stumped me. I never managed to successfully heal through it, and never had the time to gear up to over-gear it.

tbh, I've reached the point where I probably wouldn't even play WoD if I hadn't already preordered it, but we'll see where it takes me! debating if I want to continue on with my shaman (ele/resto) or maybe switch to my death knight even though I hate tanking.

FFXIV has spoiled me, though. after healing in teams of 4-8, health bars for a 25-man raid stress me out.

Cat and Mists were 80 and 85 respectively, weren't they?

Are you talking about the Sha and the forge thing? Speed boost/sprint/anything and run around and click all of the forges at once. By the time you get to the Sha thing it should have 1% health.

It's too little too late now though 🙁

Hmm, looks like you're correct. I entered BC and I think NR early but my alt was max level for Cata/MoP, I just assumed it was the same...

So that leads us back to square 1, and I can't find a quick answer to that.

everything I read said that healing the NPC was easier than trying to solo it as a DPS'er, but I wiped repeatedly for a weekend... it's been long enough that I don't remember the specifics, but I think I just wasn't able to simultaneously keep the NPC alive, click on whatever, kite the boss around, and all while trying to contribute dps.

ended up telling myself "let me gear up for a few weeks and come back to this," but life got in the way.

Yeah I had really bad trouble with it too then I looked it up on WowHead. Click all of the forges consecutively and the Sha thing should drop to 1% and you can just auto attack it by that point 🙁

Everytime I tell myself I am going to stay up and play. Then I hit server queues, unreachable quest givers, and horrible lag where I just go to bed and have a better play the next day.
 
EU went live 6 hours ago. The first half hour all servers were down or crashing. Around 00:30 MET I could log in. Servers seem stable since. A dozen of my guildies playing in the middle of the night. One just dinged 94, two were 92, the rest 91. A few Paragon-players (nr1 10man heroic raiding guild in MoP and Cata, they happen to live on my server) were leveling at a crazy speed. I just checked, and 6 hours after opening, two of them are already at level 97 !. Two more at 96, and 8 more at level 94.

People on mmo-champion are reporting the first level-100s already. Some cheaters, some legit.

My own WoD will arrive tomorrow morning. :/
Good that the race is over by then. I can level up and enjoy the new content at a pleasant pace.
