A refund from blizz of an item bought diretly from blizz would be #1n. Second would be extending subscription time. Retarded choice #1 would be eating it, #2 would be giving you a key.

So it's been a while since I played, but I'm thinking of pre-ordering from Amazon because I have some credits I can use, and also because I'd like to have the boxed version. Can I still get the early boost doing this?

I'm surprised to see that this expansion pack is $50 again. I could've sworn that the last two they were selling for $40 at launch.

The expansions have always been $40. This is the first time they raised the price. It's also one of the most delayed expansions as well as the least feature-filled. Pretty sad, really.

Now that I thought about it, I really can't remember how much the first two was, so you're probably right.

Well at least this time we'll get 10 levels!

This weekend I caught up on the Lord of War mini-cinematic/animations Blizzard is producing, man they can make as many of those as they want, they're pretty awesome.

Watch all the in game cinematics, kinda disappointing given they look a lot like current game graphics than the quality in the WoD pregame one.

Tried looking at the garrison stuff in beta. Really confusing on the level 10 realm as it looks to be built up a bit already so don't get the knowledge from building it. Also no flying really sucks ass. Map gives you no clue on actual terrain so walking around in a big circle trying to find the correct pass opening can suck it.

There were a couple of these in the opening zone in MoP and it pissed me off to no end.

Been playing WoW for about a month after having quit for about seven years. Flying really made questing easy compared to how it was in vanilla WoW. You just plop off in front of your target, do your thing, then fly away (as opposed to fighting through a horde of guys to get to where you need to go).

As someone who hasn't played since they added guild levels, banks, etc., is there an advantage to joining a random guild? I've been getting inundated with random guild invites while I play. I heard that there's some perk where the guild gets a bonus % of gold each member collects. Has anyone invented a dividend guild where the guild distributes the gold earned by their members back to them based on how much they earned? I'd join for something like that.

Yes, join a guild, most will have maxed out the perks. They are minor but nice for leveling and skills. Things like % off from vendors, faster hearth stone, % more honor/rep. A big one for groups is mass rez, gives all classes a rez to recover from a wipe. Indispensable for classes that can get out of combat.

Some of these are changing or being removed next xpack.

Don't forget about increased chance for a tradeskill level up. It makes crafting greens or yellows more likely to gain a skill, greatly simplifying the tradeskill grind.

Also, most guilds will give you some gold per day for repairs.

L2 explore

I for one welcome our no flying world

Just means the Devs are developing a smaller landmasses, which makes it much easier for themselves, as is their number one goal. Thus flying mounts would make WoD to easily explored and the expansion too quick.

It is a kick in the nuts to everyone that spent countless hours grinding,/farming for all those flying mounts in Pandaria .

You're overreacting.

I haven't played in forever but I agree that flying somewhat 'marginalizes' the world. It's neat when there's some flight specific areas (fishing in Terokkar for instance) but ultimately when you can just always take the shortest distance between two points and skip everything in between it's not very immersive. No flying makes the world more perilous and interesting imo, but some considerations do need to be made so that travel isn't a -complete- chore.

Most crafting guides won't factor this in. Wonder if the % chance is worth the mats. Obviously if you have extras sure, just wonder if it's worth it from a cost/benefit point of view.

Not sure how flying loses the immersion of the world when they have the graphics fade out on you from about 50 yards away. If I could look across a plain while on the ground and see the level of detail I'd expect to actually see that's one thing, but when view on the group across the valley looks the same as if I was a couple thousand feet in the air looking down, thanks but I'll take flying if you are taking fidelity.

set the camera distance to max and you can see a lot further. there were addons that would let you push it out even further but you took a pretty massive performance hit to do it

It depends on the required materials. If I have an orange recipe that requires an exotic ingredient, I'd rather make a few green recipes using simple ingredients. I've found the increased chance of a skill up from the guild bonus means that yellow recipes almost always give a skill up, and even green isn't too bad.
